The increase in government school enrolment seen during the COVID-19 pandemic seems to have reversed, with the proportion of children aged 6-14 years enrolled in government schools nearly back to the 2018 levels, according to the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) released on Tuesday. The report also noted that not only there has been a full recovery from the pandemic-induced learning loss, the learning levels in the primary grades are higher than past levels in some cases. The crucial report found that more than 82 per cent children in the 14-16 age group know how to use a smartphone but only 57 per cent of them use it for educational purposes. The education level of 46 per cent of the 699 candidates contesting the assembly election in Delhi is between Class 5 and Class 12, according to an analysis by poll rights body ADR. Another 46 per cent candidates attained higher education, with qualifications ranging from undergraduate degrees to doctorates. The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has released its report on the academic qualifications of the candidates contesting the February 5 election. The analysis provided insight into the academic diversity of the 699 candidates, showcasing a range of educational backgrounds represented in the electoral contest. According to the ADR analysis, 46 per cent or 324 candidates declared their academic qualification to be between Class 5 and Class 12, reflecting basic schooling. TTD board condoles stampede deaths, to give free education to victims' kids

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust board on Friday expressed condolences over the recent stampede here and decided to offer free education for the deceased victims' children at its institutions. It also decided to offer a 'contract' job to the kin of the six deceased devotees as decided by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
