Raju doesn't do any whitewashing: Paresh Rawal on Sanjay Dutt biopic

"Sanju", Rajkumar Hirani's ambitious biopic on one of Bollywood's most controversial stars -- Sanjay Dutt, is a warts and all tale, according to Paresh Rawal. Rawal, who is in the role of Dutt's father, actor-politician Sunil Dutt, says the movie is not a sympathetic look at the actor's tumultuous life. "Raju doesn't do any whitewashing," he told PTI. "Why sell lies when you are making a biopic? A person should be presented as real and should not be glorified... You can make a biopic on any interesting person but if it's not written well, then it will not be effective. It is very challenging to show a real life character without fictionalising it and yet retaining the drama element." K'taka HC asks govt to give security for 'Kaala' screening

The Karnataka High Court today directed the state government to provide necessary security for peaceful release of superstar Rajinikanth-starrer 'Kaala', which pro-Kannada outfits had threatened to stall over the actor's reported remarks on the Cauvery row. Justice G Narendar issued the direction on the basis of a Supreme Court order, which had stayed ban orders imposed on the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Padmaavat' by four states, including Rajasthan, early this year. "Freedom of speech and expression, particularly as a medium of expression in films, cannot be curtailed. Actor Armaan Kohli booked for 'assaulting' girlfriend

Bollywood actor Armaan Kohli has been accused by her girlfriend of assaulting her following which the police has registered a case and launched a search to find him, a senior official said today. The 35-year-old woman, a model, has registered the case against Kohli at the Santacruz police station here, the official said. As per the complainant, she was in a relationship with Kohli for past three years and they used to stay together in a flat in suburban Santacruz, the official said.
