Melissa McCarthy opens up about gender pay disparity

Actor Melisssa McCarthy has opened up about the time she realised she was earning less money than her male co-stars. The 47-year-old actor said though she was initially dejected to see people who started off with her suddenly making "15 times" more than her but that did not made her lose control of her career. "There were some jobs when I was paid what most (of my co-stars were). And then people who climbed the ladder with me were suddenly making 15 times what I made. "I was like, 'Wait, wait, wait.' I thought, 'This is based on bullsh*t. This not based on anything factual to me.' I hated that feeling of not being in control and not being able to do anything about it. 'Aaleya' not communal movie, clarifies producer

Amidst the ongoing tiff with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the producer of Bengali film 'Aaleya', Pradip Churiwal, on Tuesday clarified the words like 'Gujarat Riots' and 'Jai Shri Ram' have been used with the right intent.He was earlier directed by the CBFC to mute some words in the flick."It is not a communal movie. In some scenes, we have quoted words like 'Gujarat Riots' or 'Jai Shri Ram'. But they are shown with the right intent. The dialogues are not against any community," Churiwal told ANI.Reportedly, the regional office of CBFC has asked for six modifications including muting of the word 'Gujarat'.

The worldwide screen rights of "Songwriter", a documentary on Ed Sheeran, has been purchased by tech giant Apple. The going price is yet to be revealed but sources tell Billboard, the deal has been closed at low- to mid-seven figures. The movie, that made its North American debut at the Tribeca Film Festival, will be released in theaters as well as on Apple's platforms. Jessica Williams to play professor Eulalie 'Lally' Hicks in Fantastic Beasts sequel

JK Rowling has revealed that actor Jessica Williams will play professor Eulalie "Lally" Hicks in the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" sequel. Professor Hicks teaches at Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, America's equivalent of Hogwarts. Rowling tweeted that the next "Fantastic Beasts" film, "The Crimes of Grindelwald", will only feature a "hint" of Lally, and that her true glory will be revealed in the third film.
