10th India Art Fair kicks off with focus on art galleries

The 10th edition of India Art Fair opened here today with a "refreshed and expanded programme" and a continued focus on South Asian arts. With Jagdip Jagpal as the new director, this year's fair promises to test new ideas with participation from galleries, artists, private foundations, arts charities, artists' collectives, and national institutions. A total of 78 art galleries are attending the four-day festival at NSIC Grounds here with a "particularly strong representation of Indian galleries, enabling deeper engagement with artists from the local art scene". Indian galleries returning to the fair include Chatterjee & Lal, Jhaveri Contemporary, The Guild, Threshold Art Gallery, Latitude 28, Kalakriti Art Gallery, Chemould Prescott Road, and Vadehra Art Gallery. Marvel has already assembled a mammoth cast for its next "Avengers" film, "Infinity War", and now all the stars who played different parts in its Cinematic Universe over the last decade got together for group photo of epic scale. Rose McGowan's ex-manager Jill Messick commits suicide

Jill Messick, a studio executive and former manager of Rose McGowan, has died of an apparent suicide. She was 50. Messick, who was battling from depression for year and was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder, committed suicide in Los Angeles, her family said in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She served as McGowan's manager in 1997, the same year when Mcgowan's alleged rape by disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein happened. Messick later served as a production executive at Miramax, a company owned by Harvey and Bob Weinstein, from 1997 to 2003. In the aftermath of multiple exposes that revealed the length and breadth of Weinstein's sexual transgressions, McGowan went public with her own account. McGowan had claimed that Messick arranged the Weinstein meeting, which began in a hotel room.
