Google partners L&T for 150 Wi-Fi hotspots in Pune

Tech giant Google today said it has partnered with Larsen & Toubro to set up 150 'Google Station' Wi-Fi hotspots in Pune as part of Pune Smart City Development Corporation Ltd's Smart City project. The US-based firm already has a partnership with RailTel, under which Wi-Fi Internet services are provided at over 270 railway stations in the country. "Potentially, three million Punekars can now get online within seconds, to message friends, pay bills, shop online, watch music videos and do millions of other things at locations all around the city," Google said in a statement. Google said these hotspots will be available at public places like gardens, hospitals and police stations, helping people get access to free Wi-Fi. "Our aim with Google Station is to bring fast Wi-Fi to more users in more places within India. Dubbed Hindi versions of southern films look fake: Muntashir

Bollywood lyricist-writer Manoj Muntashir says the dubbed versions of films of some well-known southern stars did not meet with much success in the north Indian markets as the translations looked fake. Muntashir has been responsible for dubbing in Hindi both the installments of "Baahubali". The writer believes the film worked in Hindi because he just didn't "loosely translate" the script, that was originally in Tamil and Telugu. He says he made sure the Hindi dialogues find resonance with viewers. "Since a long time, films from the south have been dubbed in Hindi and released in the Hindi circuits, but they all failed miserably. And these were films of biggies like Rajinikanth sir, Mamooty, Chiranjeevi... Jackie Shroff to star in Gujarati remake of 'Ventilator'

National Award-winning Marathi film "Ventilator" is all set for a Gujarati remake with Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff in the lead role. The film, to be produced by Irada Entertainment, will mark Shroff's debut in Gujarati cinema. He will reprise the role of filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker from the original. "Finally, I have been cast in a film in my mother tongue Gujarati. I hope I will live up to it," Shroff said in a statement. "Ventilator" was produced by actor Priyanka Chopra. "Superman Returns" star Brandon Routh has joined the cast of live-action "Anastasia" movie. He joins previously announced Emily Carey as Anastasia and Amiah Miller to perform the role of Megan. Actor Jim Caviezel is in negotiations to reprise his role as Jesus Christ in the upcoming sequel to Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ". Gibson would presumably both produce and direct the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The actor, 49, first played thirty-something-year-old Jesus 14 years ago.
