Actor Mark Wahlberg and his agency William Morris Endeavor have agreed to donate USD 2 million in Michelle Williams' name to the #TimesUp Fund after pay disparity between the duo's reshoot fee on "All The Money In The World" led to public outcry. The news comes after a report, originally published by The Washington Post, and later by USA Today, claimed Wahlberg earned USD 1.5 million, while Williams made less than USD 1,000. Offering his support to combat harassment and pay inequities in Hollywood, the 46-year-old actor issued a statement saying, "Over the last few days my reshoot fee for 'All the Money in the World' has become an important topic of conversation. Daniel Radcliffe has broken his silence on Johnny Depp's casting in "Fantastic Beasts 2", saying he understands the reason for the fans' frustration over the actor's association with the film franchise. Depp's former wife Amber Heard had accused the actor of domestic violence. Carice Van Houten to star in 'The Glass Room'
"Game of Thrones" star Carice Van Houten has joined the cast of "The Glass Room". The film is an adaptation of Simon Mawer's 2009 novel on the love story between two women set in a house in Czechoslovakia, built by celebrity architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Variety reported. "Spanning more than 80 years, the story in the vein of 'The English Patient' and 'Carol' reflects the most dramatic events of the 20th century," according to a statement. To be directed by Julius Sevcik, the film also features Hanna Alstrom, Karel Roden, Alexandra Borbely, Roland Moller and Claes Bang, among others. "The Glass Room" is produced by Rudolf Biermann along with Czech public broadcaster Ceska Televize, Slovak private channel TV JOJ, and equity investor Igor Rattaj's company Investito.

Actor Idris Elba, who is making his directorial debut with "Yardie", said filmmaking is the "hardest" thing he has ever done. Actor Natalie Portman is in negotiations to step in for Reese Witherspoon in the "Pale Blue Dot". Witherspoon left the role last year due to scheduling conflicts. She is, however, still on board the project as a producer along with Bruna Papandrea, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie will be directed Noah Hawley from a script by Brian C Brown and Elliott DiGuiseppi. The film is about a married astronaut who returns to Earth after a mission and begins an affair with a fellow astronaut. Barry Jenkins to direct Chadwick Boseman in 'Expatriate'
Actor Chadwick Boseman will star in the thriller "Expatriate", which will be directed by "Moonlight" filmmaker Barry Jenkins. Jenkins will direct the movie from a script penned by Boseman along with Logan Coles, Deadline reported. The film is set in the 1970s and centres around a plane hijacking. Marc Platt and Adam Siegel will produce the project along with Mark Johnson and Mark Ceryak. Coles will serve as an executive producer.
'John Wick' spin-off TV series in the works
A new series based on Keanu Reeves-starrer film "John Wick" is in development at Starz. Titled "The Continental", the show will focus on the inner workings of the exclusive Continental Hotel which serves as a refuge for assassins, Entertainment Weekly reported. Chad Stahelski, the co-director of the movie and the director of the 2017 sequel, will helm the pilot episode. Chris Collins will pen the script and serve as showrunner should the drama series. Reeves, who played the title role in two films, will executive produce and might also appear in the series.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has said the state does not intend to ban Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Padmavat' if there is nothing controversial in it."I had said earlier that I respect art. As far as Padmavat is concerned, Himachal government doesn't intend to ban it in the state. If there's nothing controversial in it, we have no objection in releasing it here. I want the film to be screened in theatres", Thakur told ANI.On the other hand, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had said that despite the clearance from Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), 'Padmaavat' will not be released in the state.Gujarat is the second Indian state after Rajasthan to have banned the screening of the controversial flick.Other states, including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, which had indicated that the film will not be allowed to be released in November -- are yet to announce their final decisions.The magnum opus, based on the legend of Rani Padmini, a 13th century .
