"The Sound of Music" star Heather Menzies-Urich dies

Actor Heather Menzies-Urich, best known for her role of Louisa von Trapp in the 1965 Oscar-winning film "The Sound of Music" has passed away. She was 68. Urich was recently diagnosed with brain cancer and died surrounded by her family, her son Ryan Urich told Variety. The Rodgers and Hammerstein estate, representing "The Sound of Music" musical creators Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, condoled Urich's death and said "Heather was part of 'the family'". "There is really no other way to describe the members of the cast of the movie of 'The Sound of Music'. And of 'the kids,' Heather was a cheerful and positive member of the group, always hoping for the next gathering. "We are all lucky to have known her, and she will happily live on in that beautiful movie. We will miss her," according to a statement by Ted Chapin, president of the Rodgers and Hammerstein estate. James Norton wants Daniel Craig to play Bond in more films

Actor James Norton, who was one of the main contenders to take over the eponymous role of James Bond from Daniel Craig, has said it was "wonderful" for him to be a part of that discussion. The 31-year-old actor completely, however, has not dismissed the idea of playing the suave secret agent. "It's lovely, wonderful and complimentary to be involved in that conversation but it's just a rumour mill and that's as far as it goes," Norton told BBC. The actor will next be seen in BBC's "McMafia" and Norton maintains that the series is not an audition for Bond. Actress Heather Menzies-Urich, best known for portraying Louisa von Trapp in the 1965 film 'The Sound of Music', has died at the age of 68.She was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme about a month ago, and her health declined rapidly, her son Ryan Urich told CNN.He said his mother died on Sunday, surrounded by loved ones at a family home in Canada.Born in Toronto, Menzies-Urich's first screen credit came in the TV series 'The Farmer's Daughter' in 1964.She was 15 when she was cast as the second-eldest daughter and third eldest of the seven von Trapp children in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical 'The Sound of Music', a box office smash that won several Academy Awards.Menzies Urich is survived by three children and eight grandchildren.
