Three people were arrested Friday for attempting to break open an automated teller machine in the city, police said. The had entered the ATM kiosk at Kavundampalayam around midnight Thursday. CCTV footage showed that two went out and another person trying to break open the machine. However, they fled when the alarm bell rang. Police, who rushed to the spot, went through the CCTV footage and identified the trio as autorickshaw drivers in the area and managed to arrest them around 5 AM.

Singer Kelly Clarkson has revealed that she underwent a surgery to get her appendix removed, hours after she hosted 2019 Billboard Music Awards. The 37-year-old shared the news of Twitter, saying that she flew back home soon after the show wrapped as she started experiencing pain. She said she underwent surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Thursday and is now "feeling awesome". "Not going to lie.... I may or may not have broken down in tears after the show from pain. But thanks to all the amazing people @Cedars-Sinai I flew home directly after the event, nailed the surgery early this morning, and feeling awesome now," Clarkson wrote on the microblogging site. "Bye bye appendix #TheShowMustGoOn" she added. According to Entertainment Tonight, the surgery did not appear to be an emergency procedure, as Clarkson had been experiencing intense appendicitis pain since past one week.

American author and lawyer Scott Turow's novel "One L" is getting a television adaptation. The project is in "very early" stage at Freeform, reported Variety. According to the network, the eponymous series "follows five uniquely gifted students who bond as they navigate the perils of their first year of law school and come to terms with who they want to be, while grappling with their complicated pasts". "One L: The Turbulent True Story of a First Year at Harvard Law School" released in 1977. Pop star Justin Bieber has partnered with video-sharing website YouTube for a "top secret" project set to premiere in 2020. "It promises to be one of the most talked-about YouTube originals ever," Robert Kyncl, YouTube's chief business officer, said while announcing the deal on Thursday.
