Comedies are not really me: Keira Knightley

Actor Keira Knightley says it is difficult to judge an actor's performance in comedy films and that is the reason why she refrains from doing them. The 34-year-old actor is particularly associated with period dramas, having starred in films such as "Pride & Prejudice", "Atonement" and "The Duchess", among others. In an interview with Psychologies magazine, Knightley said she looks for those parts which challenge her as a performer. "I love a good challenge. If I don't get out of my comfort zone, if a role doesn't scare me in some way, I get bred. I love doing great dramatic films and I'm fascinated by darker characters," she said. "Maybe that's why comedies aren't really me. The first time you say a joke, everyone laughs on the set. Then you repeat the line in the next few takes and nobody laughs so you haven't the faintest idea whether or not you're doing a good job," she added. Knightley most recently featured in "The Aftermath", another period drama. The film, which also ...

"Sajid Nadiadwala wants to make 'Kick 2' more bigger and better. He is working hard on the writing," Jacqueline told PTI. The actor's next release is "Drive" with Sushant Singh Rajput. 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3' failed due to wrong casting, says Tigmanshu Dhulia

Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia believes the third installment of his "Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster" franchise failed due to wrong casting. The film franchise deals with betrayal, ambitions and greed at the backdrop of a royal family in Uttar Pradesh. The series featured Jimmy Sheirgill and Mahie Gill as a royal couple, with a new gangster in each installment. The first two films featured Randeep Hooda and Irrfan Khan as the gangsters, while the third part, which released last year, had Sanjay Dutt playing the part. The director said one of the reasons why the threequel failed to click with the audiences was that the core essence of the franchise was missing from it. "We deviated from the original soul of 'Saheb Biwi aur Gangster'. That film was not balanced. There was Jimmy, Mahie and then Sanjay Dutt. So the balance was wrong," Tigmanshu told PTI. Tigmanshu, however, said that the casting of Dutt was wrong from their end and it was not the fault of the star. "I could not have changed the ...

'X-Men: Dark Phoenix' taught me about mental health: Sophie Turner

Actor Sophie Turner says her character in "X-Men: Dark Phoenix" taught her about the impact mental illness has on the people around the sufferer. Turner, who has been open about her own battle with depression and anxiety, plays Jean Grey in the film, the X-Men character whose vast powers may surge beyond those of any other mutant on earth. After a space mission goes wrong, Jean's powers threaten to consume her and the entire world with her if she cannot find a way to control their dark appetites. ''The biggest thing I took away from this movie is what mental health problems can do to family and friends because it is 'too painful' to see. ''I have had a lot of people close to me who have struggled with their mental health, including myself, so it's something I'm really passionate about," the actor told Harper's Baazar UK. "X-Men: Dark Phoenix" releases in June this year.

Lupita Nyong'o offers apology after 'Us' voice controversy

Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o has apologised for saying that she based the voice of her evil "Us" character on a neurological disorder. The 36-year-old actor had come under fire after she revealed that she used the symptoms of spasmodic dysphonia as the inspiration for the strained voice of Red, her murderous doppelganger character in the Jordan Peele-directed film. During a visit to "The View", Nyong'o said her intent was not to "vilify or demonise" the disorder. "I met with people as part of my exploration with the condition, and I learned how difficult it is to have the disorder. So I am very aware of the frustrations and misconceptions and the misdiagnosis... I thought in speaking about it and mentioning it, it might shed light on the condition," she said. "It's a very marginal group of people who suffer from this. The thought that I would offend them was not my intention. In my mind, I wasn't interested in vilifying or demonizing the condition. I crafted Red with love and care. As .
