'The Big Bang Theory' makes history as TV's longest-running sitcom

The popular American sitcom 'The Big Bang Theory' has scripted history with its 12th and final season, and is now the longest-running TV series.With episode 276, the CBS comedy is now officially the longest-running American multi-camera sitcom. It broke the record of another American sitcom titled 'Cheers' which previously held that title with 275 episodes reported E! News.Celebrating the milestone, actor Kunal Nayyar, who plays the role of Raj Koothrappali on the show, shared a picture of his script on Instagram along with a heartfelt caption.He wrote, "And there you have it... this script officially makes us the longest running sitcom in the history of television, just surpassing the show "Cheers." SC refuses to stall release of film 'Ram Ki Janmabhoomi'

The Supreme Court Thursday refused to stall the release of film 'Ram Ki Janmabhoomi' which is scheduled to hit the screens across the country on March 29. A plea seeking to stall the release of the film was mentioned before a bench headed by Justice S A Bobde and the petitioner claimed that the release of the movie will vitiate the ongoing mediation proceeding in the Ayodhya land dispute case. "There is no connection between the mediation proceeding and the release of the movie," the bench said and listed the plea for hearing after two weeks. The film 'Ram Ki Janmabhoomi', directed by Sanoj Mishra, revolves around the controversial issue of Ram Mandir. Hearing a similar petition filed before it, the Delhi High Court said Wednesday that people will have to be tolerant if the freedom of speech and expression guaranteed under the Constitution has to survive. The court's observation came while hearing a plea filed by Prince Yakub Habeebuddin Tucy, who claimed to be a descendant of Mughal .

'Game of Thrones' prequel gets five more series regulars

"Game of Thrones" prequel pilot has added five more actors to the ensemble cast of the hit HBO series spin-off, tentatively titled "The Long Night". According to EW, Marquis Rodriquez, John Simm, Richard McCabe, John Heffernan, and Dixie Egerickx have joined the project, to be fronted by Naomi Watts. Rodriquez is known to Marvel fans as Darryl from the now cancelled "Luke Cage" and "Iron Fist" Netflix series. Simm has a variety of play and screen credits, including stints on stage adaptation of "Hamlet", "Doctor Who" and "Collateral" in TV and "Everyday" in films. Petition in Delhi HC over a movie on Ayodhya dispute

A person claiming to be a descendant of the Mughal rulers has moved the Delhi High court seeking a stay on the release of on a movie based on the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute, alleging that the movie is "derogatory" towards his ancestors and "defames" his family.The matter came up for hearing on Wednesday before a single-judge bench presided by Justice Vibhu Bakhru. The court has asked the petitioner Yakub Tucey to present the trailer of the movie as proof to ascertain his claim.Tucey in his petition claimed that the movie projects "false information" about Shias and Sunni relationship in the period of Mughal rule.The matter is slated for hearing on March 28.Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) had cleared the film for release with an 'A' (restricted to adults) certificate. The movie is slated to be released on March 29.
