Petition in Lahore HC seeks complete ban on exhibition of Indian films in Pak
A petition has been in a Lahore court seeking complete ban on trade and exhibition of Indian films in Pakistan, in reciprocation to Bollywood banning Pakistani actors and singers in the wake of the Pulwama attack that killed 40 CRPF soldiers. The All Indian Cine Workers Association has announced a total ban on Pakistani actors and artists in the aftermath of the terror attack carried out by the Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. In a notice, the organisation said they will take strong action against anyone who works with Pakistani artists. Naseeruddin Shah to reprise his role in 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro' sequel?
A sequel to Kundan Shah-directed 1983 cult classic "Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro" is in the pipeline and will see Naseeruddin Shah reprise his role. Shah and Ravi Baswani played two struggling photographers in the satire on corruption. "We are doing 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro' sequel. The script is ready. Kundan ji had written it. 'Notebook', 'Kabir Singh' will not release in Pakistan
Film producer Murad Khetani Thursday said he has decided to not release his upcoming films -- Salman Khan-produced "Notebook" and Shahid Kapoor starrer "Kabir Singh" -- in Pakistan in the wake of Pulwama terror attack. "We are not releasing our film ('Notebook') in Pakistan. The man behind hit films like 'Hum Aapke Hai kaun' and 'Maine Pyar Kiya', veteran Bollywood producer and father of filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, Raj Kumar Barjatya passed away in Mumbai on Thursday.The news of his demise was shared by his production house Rajshri Films' on their Instagram account.Associated with some of the biggest hits in the history of Indian cinema, Raj Kumar Barjatya inherited the production banner of Rajshri films from his father Tarachand Barjatya and passed it on to his son Sooraj.
