A delegation from the film and entertainment fraternity met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday and asked for lower and uniform Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates for the industry.The delegation also called for development of Mumbai as the global entertainment capital through various initiatives and proactive approaches. Rural India-set drama around menstruation, "Period. End of Sentence", has made it to the 91st Academy Awards shortlist in the Documentary Short Subject category. Award winning filmmaker Rayka Zehtabchi has directed the short film, which has been produced by Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment. Monga said she was happy with the recognition and wants the film to make it to the top five. "It is a surreal feeling. I feel so proud and excited. I would say it is just a great intention being rewarded. I hope we make it to the top five, but even this recognition is great," the producer told PTI. Bollywood delegation meets PM in Mumbai

A delegation of Bollywood producers and actors Tuesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on one-day visit to Maharashtra, at Raj Bhavan here to discuss the issues being faced by the Indian film industry. Producers Ritesh Sidhwani, Karan Johar, Sidharth Roy Kapur, the president of the Film Producers Guild, Rakesh Roshan, Ronnie Screwwala, Prasoon Joshi, the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) were part of the delegation.
