Anupam Kher-starrer 'New Amsterdam' to premiere on September 25
Bollywood veteran Anupam Kher, who is in New York for last one month shooting for "New Amsterdam", says he is looking forward to the medical television drama. The show will premiere on September 25 on NBC. The 63-year-old actor, who will be delivering a key note address in Houston at a spectacular Janmashtami celebrations this saturday, plays the role of a neurologist, Dr Vijay Kapoor in the show. "NBC's New Amsterdam, which will premier on September 25, is anticipated as the next big thing in international television. I'm glad that the medical drama has been selected among other shows of NBC for this upcoming season. It's quite an interesting show and the role is challenging enough due to very hard to pronounce medical terms that pushes my envelope as an actor and keeps me more focused and engaged," he said. James Bond's 25th film to miss Nov 2019 release
Post the exit of director Danny Boyle the 25th Bond film will miss its November 2019 release.Earlier the unnamed film was set to release on November 08.This probably would be a boon in disguise for 'Wonder Woman 1984' as it is set to release on November 01.There is a possibility the Bond film might not hit theatres until late 2020, reported The Hollywood Reporter.Prior to Boyle's exit, a talk of postponing the movie's release date to early 2020 was on.According to the official twitter account of the 'James Bond' franchise, on August 21, screenwriter Michael G. Sunny Deol today said he misses acting and plans to take up more projects after completing work on his son Karan's debut film. The 61-year-old actor said he missed out on many projects as an actor owing to his commitment to the third installment of the "Yamla Pagla Deewana" franchise and Karan's debut film "Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas', which he is directing. "Workwise, I'm going to be doing a couple of more films. I've missed acting. I've been busy with 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 3' and my son's debut," Sunny told PTI. The actor also addressed rumours regarding a film with his frequent collaborator from the '90s, Rajkumar Santoshi. "I see myself situated in a place where I'll either be working with Raj (Kumar Santoshi) or a couple of more directors. That's what we are working on right now," Sunny said. More financial scams in the offing: Amit Mitra
West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra today warned of more financial scams in the country as non performing assets (NPAs) of banks are steadily on the rise. He said that while the percentage of NPAs in 2014 was 4.4 per cent of total advances of the banks, it steadily rose to 11.06 per cent in 2018 which he described as a "dangerous signal". "Going by the systemic rise in the NPA trends, it appears that more financial scams are in the offing. Not only that, 11 public sector banks (PSBs) are on the list of RBI's prompt corrective action (PCA)", Mitra said at a seminar organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce here. Mitra said the figures were collated from the latest Financial Stability Report of RBI and in absolute terms, NPA levels had risen from Rs 2.04 lakh crore in 2014 to Rs 10.25 lakh crore in 2018.
