Filmmaker Boney Kapoor is elated with the success of his daughter Jahnvi's debut film "Dhadak". "Iwas somewhere sure it would do very well. I have told Janhvi to remain simple, honest, focused and hard working as she has been so far," Kapoor said in a statement here. The film, also starring Ishaan Khatter and Ashutosh Rana, released on July 20. Zee Studios and Dharma Productions' "Dhadak" has grossed Rs 60.48 crore worldwide. Though the film has done well at the box office, the critical response has been lukewarm. The film released in2,235 screens in India and 556 overseas. Actor Mark Wahlberg has revealed that he feuded with Leonardo DiCaprio when they worked together on 1995 film "Basketball Diaries". The 47-year-old actor revealed during his address at the 2018 LEAP Foundation Conference that DiCaprio was not keen on having Walhberg in the film which led to a brief dispute between the two. "He didn't want me for the part, and I didn't think he was right for the part," Wahlberg said, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "We both had to really learn how to respect each other, and we earned it," he added. The film, directed by Scott Kalvert, featured DiCaprio, 43, as basketball player Jim who develops an addiction to heroin. It was the second feature for Walhberg, who had played the role of Mickey, after he had switched from music to acting. After the film, Walhberg went on to star in features such as "Boogie Nights", "Planet Of The Apes" and "The Departed", where he once again acted alongside DiCaprio.

Tom Cruise has welcomed Oscar-winning actor Jennifer Connelly in the cast of "Top Gun" sequel. The Paramount and Skydance's feature, titled "Top Gun: Maverick", will be directed by Joseph Kosinski. Connelly, whose acting credits includes "Beautiful Mind" and Darren Aronofsky's "Requiem for a Dream", recently joined the cast which also includes Miles Teller and Val Kilmer. She will be playing the female lead. Cruise, who reprises his role of Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, said Connelly is "perfect" for the part. "When you see the film, you'll see why she's perfect for it. Dan Stevens is teaming up with Harrison Ford on "Call of the Wild". According to The Hollywood Reporter, the details of the actor's role are being kept under wraps. The film, to be directed by Chris Sanders, stars Ford as John Thornton, a prospector braving the Yukon on the hunt for gold. The big-budget film is being adapted by 20th Century Fox from the classic 1903 Jack London novel about the Klondike gold rush of the 1890s. Thornton was previously played by Clark Gable in a 1935 film version and by Charlton Heston in a 1972 version. Michael Green has written the script. Erwin Stoff is producing with Diana Pokorny serving as executive producer and Ryan Stafford working as co-producer. Production is set to start in early September.

Actors Patrick Schwarzenegger and Sasha Lane are all set to star in the supernatural thriller "Daniel Isn't Real". The two actors will be joined by Miles Robbins, and Hannah Marks in the cast, reported Variety. The film, to be directed by "Some Kind of Hate" helmer Adam Egypt Mortimer, has started shooting in New York City. The story follows a troubled college freshman who suffers a violent family trauma and resurrects his childhood imaginary friend Daniel (played by Schwarzenegger) to help him cope. The thriller is based on the novel In "This Way I Was Saved" by Brian DeLeeuw, who has co-penned the script. The project is being produced by Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah, Josh C. Waller and Lisa Whalen.
