ICAI to conduct foundation, intermediate examinations three times a year

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will conduct examinations for foundation and intermediate courses three times in a year. Till now, the institute has been conducting these examinations twice a year. "The intermediate and foundation course examinations will be conducted thrice in a year in the month of January, May/June and September," ICAI said in a release on Friday. The decision was taken at ICAI's council meeting on March 7. ICAI has more than 4 lakh members and 8.5 lakh students.

UP govt cancels police constable recruitment exam held on Feb 17 and 18

The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday announced the cancellation of the recently held examination to recruit police constables in the state. In a post on 'X', Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said orders have been issued to re-conduct the exam within six months. "There can be no compromise with the sanctity of examinations. Those who toy with the hard work of youngsters will not be spared under any circumstances. Strictest action is certain to be taken against such unruly elements," he said in Hindi. The examination was conducted on February 17 and 18.

Normalisation of scores likely to be done away with for CUET-UG: UGC chief

Normalisation of scores for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG is likely to be done away with this year with the National Testing Agency (NTA) planning a rejig of the crucial exam for its third edition, according to top officials. The exam, which is spread over a month, is likely to be conducted in a shorter duration as the agency is contemplating a hybrid mode, including OMR sheets and a computer-based test. The move will also ensure that most of the students get a chance to take the exam in a city of their choice. "The NTA is working on the possibility of conducting papers with a large registration in the OMR mode. This will help us choose a large number of schools as test centres. JEE-Main: Frisking, biometric attendance to be repeated after toilet breaks

Candidates appearing for engineering entrance exam JEE-Main will have to undergo frisking and biometric attendance after toilet breaks as well, according to National Testing Agency (NTA) officials. Officials, observers, staff members and even helps serving refreshments will have to undergo the same process, they said. "The move is aimed at ensuring there are no cases of use of unfair means or proxy attendance. We have strict mechanisms in place already but the idea is to make the exam completely foolproof to ensure there are zero incidents," NTA Director Subodh Kumar Singh said.
