The private neonatal hospital where seven newborns died and five were injured in a blaze was operating despite the expiry of its license. It also did not have qualified doctors and had no clearance from the fire department, police said on Sunday. "The licence issued to the Baby Care New Born Child Hospital by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of Delhi, has already expired on March 31. "Even the expired licence issued to the said hospital allowed for five beds only," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Surendra Choudhary said. A fire broke out inside the Income Tax CR Building in ITO area on Tuesday, officials of the Delhi Fire Services said. No casualty was reported. The fire broke out in the building located opposite the old Police Headquarters, which is still occupied by the force for some of its units. "We received a call at 3.07 pm, regarding a fire in the Income Tax CR building. We have rushed a total of 21 fire tenders. We have also informed the local police about the matter for further investigation and to maintain law and order," officials of the DFS said. At least seven people were injured following a blast and a massive fire in a chemical factory in Delhi's Bawana area on Sunday, police said. The condition of three of the injured is critical, they added. "A call regarding a fire at a factory in Sector 1, Bawana industrial area was received at 3:04 pm. Twenty fire-tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames," Delhi Fire Services (DFS) chief Atul Garg said. A 50-year-old man was charred to death as a major fire broke out at a timber market in South Mumbai in the early hours of Friday, a civic official said. The fire, which started in the 'Lakda Bazar' located in Chor Bazaar locality of Grant Road area around 2 am, was doused after nearly ten hours. The fire brigade categorised it as 'level four' (major). The deceased, whose body was found during the rescue operation, was identified as Dhanshyam Prajapati. The flames spread to wood stock, containers of chemicals and electric wiring on the ground and first floors of the market and also damaged adjacent shops and hotels, the official said.
