Amid signs of differences between the BJP and its ally JJP, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Friday said the alliance between the two parties after the 2019 assembly polls was forged to form a stable government in the state and not due to any compulsion. Three new railway stations will come up Kalanaur, Jagadhari and Darazpur in Yamunanagar district under the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor Railway (EDFCR) project and these will benefit the industrial sector, a top Haryana government official said on Saturday. Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal said to ensure benefits to industries from these stations, a committee led by the Yamunanagar deputy commissioner will be formed. This committee will gather information from industries based in the area and accordingly facilitate services at the stations, he said in an official statement. The development of the railway corridor will not only benefit local traders and industries but also businesses up to Ponta Sahib, it said. The Haryana government has enhanced the monthly allowance for dwarfs and eunuchs by Rs 250 to Rs 2,750 per month. The enhanced allowance will be applicable from April 1 this year. Haryana Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Om Prakash Yadav made the announcement after a meeting here on Tuesday, according to an official statement. He said that to get the allowance under both these schemes, a person should be a domicile of Haryana and should be at least 18 years of age. "Under the dwarf allowance, the (maximum) height of male should be 3 feet 8 inches and the (maximum) height of females should be 3 feet 3 inches," he said. He said the applicant will have to produce a certificate from a civil surgeon for availing the allowance under both the categories. Yadav said that from April 1, the amount of old age samman allowance, widow pension, disabled pension and "ladli social security" allowance have also been increased.

The Haryana government has announced a 4 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for the state government employees, who are drawing their pay as per the seventh pay commission structure. The DA has been enhanced from the existing rate of 38 per cent to 42 per cent of the basic pay, with effect from January 1, 2023, according to an order of the Finance Department of Haryana Government on Thursday. It said that the enhanced DA shall be paid with the pay of April and arrear for the months of January to March, 2023, shall be paid in the month of May. In a separate order, the finance department said that the state government has also enhanced the dearness relief (DR) by 4 per cent which is payable to the state government pensioners and family pensioners drawing their pension/family pension as per the 7th pay commission structure. The NGT was hearing a petition claiming the project proponent (PP) was violating the conditions of the Central Ground Water Authority's (CGWA's) no objection certificate (NOC) specifying the quantity of groundwater to be extracted and that the CGWA had already categorised the area as 'over exploited'. E-auction of gifts received by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar have fetched nearly Rs 1.15 crore and the amount will be deposited in CM's Relief Fund, according to an official statement on Sunday. The gifts auctioned included a 3D model of the chief minister that fetched Rs 21 lakh, a sculpture of Arjun's chariot for Rs 6.41 lakh, a Kamakhya temple sculpture for Rs 5.80 lakh and Ram Janmabhoomi temple model for Rs 1.75 lakh, it said. A total of 51 gifts put up for auction by the government through Uphaar Portal have fetched nearly Rs 1.15 crore, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Amit Agrawal said. "The amount received from the auction of gifts will be deposited in the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and will be spent on public welfare works," he said. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the 'Prati Boond-Adhik Fasal' scheme started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought focus on increasing water-use efficiency in farming, adding that micro irrigation led to a 52-per cent increase in the state's fruit and vegetable yields. Khattar said various schemes are being run through the Micro Irrigation and Command Area Development Authority (MICADA) for water conservation and its judicious and economical use, according to a statement. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started the 'Prati Boond-Adhik Fasal' scheme, Khattar said, and added, "The focus is on increasing water-use efficiency at the farm level through micro-irrigation -- that is drip and sprinkler irrigation systems. "Micro-irrigation systems are invaluable for farming. With this, there is a considerable increase in the area irrigated from the same source of water."
