To address this, the central government procured national flags from large vendors and distributed approximately 7.5 crore flags to the states, directly and through post offices, he noted in a statement, adding that the government also revised the Flag Code of .

'Country demands pro-activeness,' PM Modi tells trainee IAS officers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday asked trainee IAS officers to provide the best possible governance and quality of life to citizens as he said that 'New India' is not satisfied with a lackadaisical approach and demands pro-activeness. It is their choice, he told them, whether they will act as speed-breakers or superfast highways in service delivery. The saturation approach pursued by his government to reach out to every entitled beneficiary of welfare schemes ensures social justice and prevents discrimination, he said according to a statement. He told the trainee officers of the 2022 batch that they should aspire to be catalytic agents, and they will feel satisfaction when they see change happening in front of their eyes. Talking about schemes like 'Lakhpati Didi', 'Drone Didi' and 'PM Awas Yojana', he said all of them should work with a saturation approach to take these schemes further to people. Modi said 'Nation First' is not just a slogan but his life's aim and exhorted

Whether PM Modi visits Manipur non-issue, we are in touch with him 24/7: CM

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday said whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits the state or not is a non-issue, since his government is in touch with him round the clock. Singh's statement came two days after Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi visited Manipur and requested Modi to come to the ethnic strife-affected state to offer some solace to the people. "It is not a question of the PM visiting the state or not. The coming of the PM depends on the situation," the chief minister told reporters on the sidelines of the extended executive meeting of the state BJP. Singh, however, did not clarify what he meant by "the situation". "We are maintaining contact with him 24/7 and working under his guidance. All relief works, security measures, food and medical provisions are being carried out following the Prime Minister's advice and consent," he said. Ethnic violence between Meitei and Kuki communities in the northeastern state claimed more than 200 li
