J&K inks over Rs 2100-cr MoUs during investment summit roadshow in Mumbai

The newly formed union territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday inkedMemorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth over Rs 2,100 crore during its investment summit roadshow in the city here. "We want to maximise industrial growth and employment opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir. For this we are engaging in six city roadshows. Of this, we have already successfully concluded in Bengaluru, Kolkata and Mumbai," Jammu and Kashmir Principal Secretary Planning, Development and Monitoring Rohit Kansal told reporters here at an investor roadshow organised by CII. "The roadshows will further cover cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad in February and March," he said. Led by Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu, the officials pitched about the business possibilities in Kashmir valley to India Inc. RSS to hold conclave in Jammu from July 18

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will be holding a conclave here from July 18, first such meet in Jammu and Kashmir during which issues related to the situation in the state and various other topics will be discussed. The three-day 'Akhil Bhartiya Pracharak' conference, which comes close on the heels of terror attack on Amarnath pilgrims, is being held against the backdrop of the worsening security situation and increasing militancy in Kashmir. As many as 195 'pracharaks' (preachers), heads of all allied organizations of RSS and top leaders will take part in the conference, RSS sources said today. Jammu allotted Rs 200 cr under AMRUT mission

Over Rs 200 crore funds have been allocated for the winter capital of Jammu under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), J&K Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh said. He said several major towns of the state would also be covered under the AMRUT programme so that they are replete with all modern facilities of urban living. The minister was speaking at a high-level meeting convened here yesterday to review the status of projects in Jammu city funded under AMRUT and being executed by the Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED). "Under AMRUT, Rs 206.15 crore funds have been allocated for Jammu, covering the sectors like urban transport, green spaces, drainage and sewerage," he said.
