Bengaluru's Kempegowda Airport tops global on-time performance rankings

Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru has secured the top position as the world's most punctual airport for the past three consecutive months, according to Cirium's 'The On-Time Performance Monthly Report.' The Kempegowda International Airport operated by Bangalore International Airport Limited maintained an "impressive" on-time departure experience for passengers, with 87.51 per cent punctuality in July, 89.66 per cent in August, and 88.51 per cent in September, a BIAL statement said on Tuesday. According to the report, on-time departure ranking measures the percentage of flights that departed within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. Cirium's evaluation process involves a thorough review of flight data for airports worldwide, it said.

Bengaluru Airport launches 'BLR Pulse' app to cater to needs of passengers

Passengers flying through Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport) will now have a new way of experiencing the airport with the launch of 'BLR Pulse' a personalised digital travel buddy to cater to their needs. Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) the operator of BLR Airport, in collaboration with GrayMatter Software Services, has created 'BLR Pulse', an omnichannel platform. "This app alleviates common pre-travel apprehensions like long security queues, wait times, etc. It allows passengers to navigate within the terminal buildings and take control of their journey at departures and arrivals by providing essential information about the airport in real-time," BIAL said in a statement on Monday. The interactive chatbot feature in the app enables a self-sufficient mode of finding answers to various questions, which will be further curated over time, it said. Bengaluru airport reports strong growth in passenger numbers in 2022-23

Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (KIAB / BLR Airport) reported a 96 per cent growth in passenger numbers during 2022-23 compared to the previous financial year, with 31.91 million passengers travelling through the airport. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Friday inaugurate the Terminal 2 of the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru that has been built at a cost of around Rs 5,000 crore, according to officials.
