Mumbai cops to bring 3 accused in Tiger Shroff firing from Kota on Tuesday

A Mumbai Police team which took custody of three individuals involved in firing gunshots at actor Tiger Shroff's car stayed overnight here with them despite obtaining their transit remand. The team, which obtained the requisite permission Monday evening, decided to stay in Kota to avoid travelling at night. It will return to Mumbai on Tuesday. Ramswaroop, the SHO of Railway Colony Police Station where the three have been kept, said a tight vigil was mounted in the night. "Since the incident is very serious, security is being maintained as per the usual procedure. I was here throughout the night. The CCTV cameras are directly connected to the police headquarters," he said. Three men suspected to be involved in the firing at actor Tiger Shroff were detained in Rajasthan's Kota from a train coming from Mumbai on Monday, a police official said. "The three suspects have been detained by Kota city police today at Kota station," the official told PTI. Three unidentified assailants opened fire at Shroff's car in Mumbai's Juhu area on Sunday evening. The actor escaped unhurt, while his driver and another person were injured. Neet re-exam: Security tightened at 92 Kota centres; candidate count falls

Authorities have finalised elaborate security and administrative arrangements at 92 centres across Kota for the NEET UG re-examination to be held on June 21, officials said on Saturday. A three-storey building collapsed in Rajasthan's Kota on Saturday night, sparking fears that several people may be trapped under the debris, an official said. The number of students in Kota has fallen to 85,000 to 1 lakh this year from the usual 2 to 2.5 lakh, reducing the annual revenue to Rs 3,500 crore from Rs 6,500 to 7,000 crore, they said. Akhilesh Kumar Singh (32), a resident of the Jamui district in Bihar and currently living in Delhi's Rohini, was arrested from Haryana's Jind district on Saturday in connection with a case of forged documents, Kota City SP Amrita Duhan said.
