A 12-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised and beaten up at a village here by two youths, who have been arrested, police said today. The incident took place yesterday. The youths were arrested after a case was registered at the New Mandi police station based on a complaint by his parents, police said. A woman was allegedly raped by her brother-in-law at gun point at her house here, police said today. The incident took place last evening when her husband had gone out to buy medicines, they said. Based on a complaint lodged by the woman, a case was registered at the Bhopa police station, Station House Officer (SHO) Vijay Singh said. The Yamunanagar police has arrested three people for allegedly raping a 13-year-old minor on Sunday.Yamunanagar Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Kalia told ANI, "Three people have been arrested for raping a teenager in Yamunanagar. More than four thousand cases were settled on a single day in the National Lok Adalat organised in the District Court Mathura, a judge here said. The body of a 38-year-old man was found inside his car in southeast Delhi's Govindpuri this afternoon, with the police suspecting that he might have died due to suffocation or ill health. The man, identified as Rupesh, used to work for a taxi service. He had reached the location at 5 am today and parked the vehicle in front of a shop. Later the shop owner asked him to move the car from there, to which Rupesh replied that he would leave soon, the police said. He was then sleeping inside the car. At 2 pm when the shopkeeper again asked him to remove the car, Rupesh told him that he would leave soon, they said. A US appeals court has ruled in a case over selfies taken by a monkey that lawsuits can't be filed claiming animals have copyrights to photos. The decision by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals today upheld a lower court ruling in favor David Slater, the photographer whose camera was used to take the photos. The appeals court said U.S. copyright law confers the right to sue on humans. The monkey, a crested macaque named Naruto, snapped the photos in 2011 with an unattended camera. Slater was on a trip to Sulawesi, Indonesia, and argued that his company, Wildlife Personalities Ltd., owned worldwide commercial rights to the photos. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sought financial control of the photos to benefit the monkey.
A property dealer was today shot dead allegedly by some unidentified men in Murad Nagar town, police said. The incident occurred when Sunder Tyagi, around 45 years, was sitting outside his house in Friends Colony, situated on the Delhi-Meerut road, they said. Senior Superintendent of police Vaibhav Krishna told that Tyagi was a property and used to selling plots in Defense Enclave on the Delhi-Meerut road near ordinance factory. Around 8.00pm, four assailants on two bikes reached there and took him to the place where he used to sell plots on the pretext of purchasing a plot and allegedly fired upon him, the SSP said.
