This comes after a woman Maoist, an accused in the shooting incident, was gunned down by security forces in an alleged encounter near Andrapali forest Friday during intense combing operations. The arrested were identified as Yedala Subba Rao (45), Gemmeli Sobhan (32), Yedela Eswari (34) and Korra Kamala (35),all native of Dumbriguda Mandal. Police claimed that all the accused had worked for the Organisation for the Protection of Girijan Rights (OPGR) in the past and have been providing support to the Maoists. One militant of the banned outfit Kangleipak Yawol Kanba Lup (KYKL) was arrested from Bishenpur district of Manipur on Sunday evening, police said. The cadre was arrested from Keinou Bazaar area during an operation. A rape accused, on the run for the last six months, was Sunday held in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. Sher Singh, a resident of Gandali-Thakrakote village, was arrested by a special police team from Panassa village, a police spokesperson said. A policeman was arrested for allegedly molesting a woman in neighbouring Pimpri Chinchwad township, a senior official said Sunday. The accused, assistant sub inspector Ramnath Palve, molested the woman when she came to lodge a complaint against her husband on Wednesday, the official added. Police claimed to have rescued five girls by raiding a dance bar and a lodge in Kashimira area in Thane district Sunday. Raids were carried out on the intervening night of October 11 and 12 at Sea Magic Orchestra Bar and a lodge in the area, said Assistant Superintendent of Police Atul Kulkarni. An FIR has been lodged against a man for allegedly raping a minor girl for months on the pretext of marriage in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district. City Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar said that the accused used to visit the girl's residence when she was alone and repeatedly raped her on the pretext of marrying her. The man lived in the girl's neighbourhood at a place under Town Police Station. A former member of the Municipal Council was killed in Darwha town in Yavatmal district Sunday morning, police said. Accused Sandeep Thote (35) allegedly hit Subhash Dudhe (50) with an iron rod and then crushed his head with a stone in Baripura area, police said. Dudhe died on the spot, said Police Station Officer Rita Uikey. Prakash Ddhe, the deceased's brother, is a member of Darwha Municipal Council. Two alleged bovine smugglers were arrested and 25 animals rescued in two separate operations in Reasi and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir, police said Sunday. Abdul Ghani and Bahar Din, both residents of Mahore, were arrested while they were trying to smuggle 19 bovine animals at the Khor-Dewal area of Reasi district, a police spokesman said. He said a police party after putting hectic efforts by scaling mountainous terrain intercepted the smugglers and rescued the animals. Three persons were arrested Sunday in connection with the killing of a senior SBI employee in Assam, police said. An Assam Police spokesperson said that the three persons were apprehended from a place in Kamprup district on Saturday for their involvement in the killing of the bank employee, identified as Junu Sarma. They were arrested Sunday following their interrogation, the spokesperson said. The police is continuing with the investigation to find out the involvement of more persons, if any.
