For last 10 yrs, you've only done negative politics: Kharge slams PM

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his 'quit India' jibe at the opposition, saying it is "our victory" that those who did not remember the 'Quit India Movement' for 75 years are doing so now. Kharge's attack on Modi came hours after the prime minister, while addressing an event to lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 508 railway stations, accused the opposition of playing "negative politics" and said now the entire country is rooting for corruption, dynasty and appeasement to 'quit India'. Hitting back at Modi, Kharge said, "Prime Minister Modi, For the last 10 years, you have only done negative politics of divisiveness. You are now uttering bitter words for INDIA as well." "You have not been able to control Manipur violence in the last three months. Your divisive politics has pitted communities against each other, leading to a civil war-like situation. More than 150 people have been killed so far," Kharge said

PM Modi not speaking in parl but making speeches in Rajasthan: Kharge

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accused him of not speaking in Parliament and instead making political speeches in Rajasthan. Kharge said people have now become aware and will fight "this kind of politics". The opposition has been accusing the prime minister of not making a statement in Parliament on the northeastern state, which has seen violence since May 3. No need to hold overnight protest: Kharge advises AAP's Sanjay Singh

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday urged suspended AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh not to sit on protest overnight and end it every day when Parliament's proceedings conclude. He told Singh that the protest sit-in should be held when the day's proceedings begin and end when both Houses adjourn for the day. Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been witnessing disruptions every day since the Monsoon session began on July 20. Singh readily agreed to Kharge's suggestion and said he will follow what the leader of the opposition bloc says. However, he is yet to formally announce his party's decision on the suggestion made by the Congress veteran. Kharge along with other Congress members and those of other opposition parties had come to join Singh's protest when he gave his suggestion. Singh has been protesting in the Parliament premises since his suspension Monday from Rajya Sabha for "unruly behaviour" for the entire session which ends on August 11.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make a "comprehensive" statement in both houses of Parliament on the violence in Manipur. He said the situation in the northeast was fragile and the repercussions of the Manipur violence seem to be spilling over to other states too, asserting that it was not good for the country's sensitive border states. INDIA demands answers from the Modi Government on Manipur violence," he said on Twitter. Kharge said it was high time that Modi sheds his "ego" and takes the country into confidence on Manipur.
