MP transfers 9 IAS officers, makes Sukhveer Singh Chief Electoral Officer

In yet another bureaucratic reshuffle this month, the Madhya Pradesh government has transferred nine Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officers with Sukhveer Singh being appointed as the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the state. The government issued the transfer order on Tuesday night. Sukhveer Singh, a 1997-batch IAS officer posted as the Principal Secretary of Horticulture and Food Processing till now, will replace Anupam Rajan. Rajan, a 1993 batch officer, has been transferred as the Principal Secretary of Higher Education Department. Amit Rathore, a 1996 batch officer, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the Finance Department. He was holding the charge of the Commercial Tax Department. Shriman Shukla, a 2007 batch officer, has been transferred as the Divisional Commissioner of Shahdol division. On August 10, the state government had carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring 26 IAS officers, including eight district collectors and 21 Indian .

12.9 million women to get Rs 250 each for Rakhi festival from MP govt

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday transferred an additional Rs 250 for the Rakhi festival along with the monthly Rs 1,250 assistance in bank accounts of 1.29 crore women beneficiaries of Ladli Behna Yojana, totalling Rs 1,897 crore. Addressing a function at Vijaypur in Sheopur district, Yadav said women deserve respect and hailed Rakshabandan (to be celebrated on August 19) as a sacred festival. The previous MP government led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, now Union Agriculture Minister, had launched the Ladli Behna scheme months before the 2023 assembly polls. Addressing a function in Tikamgarh district, Yadav said Madhya Pradesh will leave behind Punjab and Haryana in terms of development, especially in agriculture. He appealed to farmers not to sell their agricultural land in distress as their future is bright.

Madhya Pradesh cabinet approves irrigation projects worth Rs 10,373 crore

The Madhya Pradesh cabinet on Tuesday approved irrigation projects worth Rs 10,373 crore which would benefit the districts of Mandsaur, Rajgarh, Sidhi, Seoni and Balaghat, an official said. The projects which received approval included Takhaji Micro Lift Irrigation Project (Rs 60.3 crore) in Mandsaur district, Mohanpura Major Irrigation Project (Rs 4,666.66 crore) in Rajgarh, Sitapur Hanuman Micro Irrigation Project (Rs 4,167.93 crore) in Sidhi, and Sanjay Sarovar canal extension (Rs 332.54 crore) work in Seoni and Balaghat districts. A proposal to start air services from various cities in the state on a Public, Private, Partnership (PPP) mode was also approved at the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the official said. To curb emission of greenhouse gases, the government decided to introduce 'Pradhanmantri e-Bus service' in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain and Sagar cities. Raghvendra Singh appointed as principal secretary to Madhya Pradesh CM

Raghvendra Kumar Singh, a 1997 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the principal secretary to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. The order to this effect was issued on Friday night. As per the government order, Singh will replace Manish Rastogi, a 1994 batch IAS officer. Rastogi was the principal secretary of former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Before being appointed to this post, Singh was the principal secretary of the mining department. Mohan Yadav, MLA from Ujjain South, was sworn in as the new chief minister of Madhya Pradesh on December 13.

Decision on next MP CM likely on Monday after BJP observers meet party MLAs

The suspense over who will become the next chief minister of Madhya Pradesh is likely to end on Monday when the BJP's 163 newly-elected legislators meet and select their leader in the presence of central observers, a party functionary said. In the November 17 Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, the results of which were declared last Sunday, the BJP won as many as 163 of the 230 seats, leaving the Congress a distant second at 66. The party on Friday appointed Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, its OBC 'Morcha' head K Laxman and its secretary Asha Lakra as central observers for electing the leader of its legislative party in Madhya Pradesh. "The central observers will chair a meeting of party MLAs on Monday," MP BJP media cell head Ashish Agrawal told PTI on Saturday.
