NLC to double lignite mining capacity to 62.15 MTPA by 2025
NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of Ministry of Coal (MoC), to increase its lignite mining capacity of 62.15 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) compared to a present capacity of 30.60 MTPA, Coal production of 31 MTPA and Power generating capacity to 20971 MW. The company is also going aggressively in renewable energy with wind and solar energy projects.The company has got lignite mining capacity of around 30.60 MTPA in Neyveli and Rajasthan, while its power production capacity is around 4295 MW.S K Acharya, chairman and managing director, NLCIL said 2016-17 has been a successful and eventful year for NLC India Limited.
