Three entities offload over 4 mn PVR shares worth Rs 759.14 crore

Three different entities have offloaded 40.45 lakh shares of multiplex operator PVR on Thursday that are worth Rs 759.14 crore through open market transactions. Plenty Private Equity FII I sold 7,62,499 shares of the company at an average price of Rs 1,877.14 apiece, according to bulk deal data available on the BSE. Plenty Private Equity Fund I offloaded 10,76,259 shares of the firm at an average price of Rs 1,887.04 and Gray Birch Investment sold 22,06,743 shares at Rs 1,871.18 apiece. Gray Birch Investment sold its entire holding in the firm. As per the company's June quarter shareholding pattern available on the BSE, Gray Birch Investment held 22,06,743 shares or 3.61 per cent as public shareholder, while Plenty Private Equity FII I held 15,24,998 shares or 2.50 per cent stake in PVR. Plenty Private Equity Fund I held 21,52,517 shares or 3.52 per cent stake in the company. Shares of PVR fell 4.40 per cent to settle at Rs 1,844.50 apiece on the BSE.

Shares of PVR, INOX Leisure defy broader market trend; settle with gains

Shares of multiplex chains PVR and INOX Leisure defied the broader market trend and settled in the positive territory on Wednesday after the Competition Commission rejected the complaint against proposed PVR-INOX deal. The rise in shares came a day after the Competition Commission of India (CCI) rejected a complaint against the proposed merger of PVR and INOX Leisure, saying apprehension of likelihood of anti-competitive practices by an entity cannot be a subject of probe. Shares of PVR opened on a bullish note at Rs 1,891.10 and hovered in the range of Rs 1,886.75 to Rs 1,974.75 during the trading session on BSE. It finally closed at Rs 1,929.45, up 0.99 per cent over its last close. On NSE, it opened at Rs 1,905 and settled at Rs 1,927.00, registering a rise of 0.94 per cent over its Tuesday's closing level. PVR shareholders, creditors to meet on October 11 to consider INOX merger

Multiplex operator PVR has called a meeting of its shareholders and creditors on October 11 to seek their approval for the scheme of merger with rival Inox Leisure. This comes after the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on August 22 directed PVR to call a meeting. "We wish to inform you that pursuant to the order pronounced on August 22, 2022 and received on September 5, 2022, meetings of equity shareholders will be held through video conferencing or other audio visual means on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 11:30 AM," PVR informed exchanges on Thursday. The meeting of secured creditors of the company will be held physically at PVR's registered office in Mumbai on the same day at 3 PM, it added. Morgan Stanley Asia on Friday bought 9.4 lakh shares of cement manufacturer ACC Ltd for over Rs 215 crore through an open market transaction. According to bulk deal data available with the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Morgan Stanley Asia (Singapore) Pte purchased 9,41,557 shares of the company. The shares were acquired at an average price of Rs 2,290 apiece, taking the transaction value to Rs 215.61 crore. Shares of ACC settled 0.43 per cent lower at Rs 2,286.50 on NSE. In a separate transaction, Societe Generale buys shares of multiplex film exhibition company PVR Ltd for Rs 60 crore through an open market transaction. Societe Generale ODI picked up 3,23,158 shares at an average price of Rs 1,861.42 per scrip, taking the transaction value to Rs 60.15 crore, as per data available with the bourse. PVR Ltd shares were closed 0.05 per cent lower at Rs 1,854 on NSE.

BNP Paribas Arbitrage on Thursday offloaded 4.05 lakh shares of multiplex film exhibition company PVR Ltd for more than Rs 74 crore through an open market transaction. According to bulk deal data available with BSE, BNP Paribas Arbitrage sold 4,05,183 shares of the company. The shares were disposed of at an average price of Rs 1,841.14 apiece, taking the transaction value to Rs 74.59 crore. Shares of PVR Ltd settled 0.64 per cent higher at Rs 1,841.15 on BSE.
