Rajasthan CM Gehlot to launch 100 days' employment scheme in urban areas

The Rajasthan government is going to launch on Friday its ambitious scheme to provide 100 days of employment to needy families in urban areas on the lines of the MGNREGA. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is scheduled launch the "Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Scheme" in the presence of Urban Development and Housing Minister Shanti Dhariwal, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, PHED Minister Mahesh Joshi, Agriculture Minister Lal Chand Kataria and Jaipur Heritage Municipal Corporation Mayor Munesh Gurjar. Local MLAs will also be present on the occasion. The state-level programme will be held near a tunnel on Agra Road, an official said. Rajasthan govt signs MoUs, LoI for over Rs 10.44 trn investment: Minister

Rajasthan Industry Minister Shankutala Rawat on Saturday said memoranda of understanding and letters of intent for investment of more than Rs 10.44 lakh crore have been signed with companies ahead of the Invest Rajasthan 2022 summit. She said that the state is poised to take a significant step toward a new era of industrialisation with the Invest Rajasthan Summit which is going to be held in Jaipur on October 7 and 8. "Approximately 3,000 delegates from diverse sectors and industries will attend and participate in conclaves on tourism, NRR, MSMEs, agribusiness, start-ups, and future-ready sectors during the summit, she told reporters here. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday said his government wants to develop the state as a centre of religious tourism, for which places of worship should be equipped with all kind of facilities. At a meeting held to review the management of religious fairs, he directed officials for their safe conduct. "The state government is committed to provide the devotees all kind of facilities and security. The intention of the state government is that Rajasthan should be developed into a wonderful centre of religious tourism," he said. Rajasthan's upcoming investor summit - Invest Rajasthan 2022 - began on Wednesday in the national capital and MoUs worth almost Rs 70,000 crore were signed by various firms. Rajasthan government plans to provide smartphones to 1.35 crore women

Three major telecom companies of the country have shown interest in the Chief Minister Digital Seva Yojana of the Rajasthan government under which 1.35 crore women in the state are to be given smartphones, officials said Friday. A senior official said a high-level committee will take a decision on the bidders this month after evaluation. The government wants to complete this process at the earliest so that the scheme can be implemented before the assembly elections next year. The total cost of the project is Rs 12,000 crore. The technical bids for the government project were opened here on Wednesday. "Technical bids were opened on Wednesday. Vodafone, a private company that offered the tender, did not appear," Project in-charge Chhatrapal Singh told PTI. He said that now a high level committee will assess the tenders and decide further.
