BJP to organise mass contact programmes in Rajasthan on Tuesday

The BJP's Rajasthan unit will organise mass contact programmes across the state on June 27 to generate awareness about the Centre's welfare schemes, party state secretary Vijender Poonia said on Monday. The initiative is a part of the BJP's national campaign to mark the completion of the Modi government's nine years in office, he said. The programmes will be organised at district and booth levels to inform people about the central government's schemes for the welfare of the poor and to provide good governance, he said. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually address 10 lakh BJP booth workers from Bhopal. As many as 170 workers have been selected from 25 Lok Sabha constituencies of Rajasthan and they have gone to Bhopal to take part in the event, said Poonia, who is also the Rajasthan incharge of the booth dialogue programme. Prime Minister Modi will interact directly with 10 workers from each Lok Sabha constituency at 11 am on Tuesday during the programme, he said.

4 dead in lightning incidents as Rajasthan receives first Monsoon rains

Four people were killed and as many others injured in incidents of lightning strikes in Rajasthan as first Monsson rains were received in some parts of the state, officials said Monday. The deaths were reported from Pali, Baran and Chittorgarh districts, they said. Monsoon entered parts of the state on Sunday, bringing light to moderate rains and heavy rains in some districts of Udaipur, Kota, Bikaner, Jaipur divisions. A Meteorological Department spokesman said till Monday morning, 10 cm rainfall were recorded in Kathumar of Alwar and Khamnaur of Rajsamand districts. Surajgarh of Jhunjhunu recorded 8 cm rainfall, while 7 cm precipitation was recorded in Bhainsrodgarh of Chittorgarh, Ajitgarh of Sikar, and Kota districts Kota and Ramganj Mandi, the spokesperson said. Alwar's Kotkasim received 6 cm rainfall and Dausa's Baswar 6 cm, while many other places recorded rainfall ranging from 1-5 cm. Air connectivity to Rajasthan's Bikaner and Kishangarh airports from other parts of the country is likely to enhance as the Airport Authority of India along with the Ministry of civil aviation has put up both the airports for bidding in order to start new fights. The development came after the Rajasthan government's resident commissioner in New Delhi held a meeting with the secretary of the union ministry sometime back regarding the expansion and development of airports in the state, an official said here. Commissioner of Rajasthan Foundation Dhiraj Srivastava said Bikaner and Kishangarh airports have been included in the bidding process for starting new flight services. Exports from Rajasthan surge by Rs 31,000 cr to Rs 77,771 cr in FY23

Exports from Rajasthan have increased by around Rs 31,000 crore in the last six fiscal years to Rs 77,771 crore in 2022-23. According to an official statement, shipments from Rajasthan were Rs 46,476 crore in 2017-18, which increased to more than Rs 77,771 crore in last fiscal year. Exports were Rs 51,178.41 crore in 2018-19 ; Rs 49,946.10 crore in 2019-20; Rs 52,764.31 crore in 2020-21; Rs 71,999 crore in 2021-22 and Rs 77,771.37 crore in 2022-23. The successful implementation of industrial policies, export promotion programmes and campaigns of the state government have given impetus to exporters and exports, the statement said. Rajasthan women to get 50% rebate on fares across all roadways buses

The Rajasthan government on Thursday announced a 50 per cent concession in fares for women passengers across classes of Rajasthan roadways buses. So far, the concession was limited to ordinary (blue line) buses. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved a proposal to provide 50 per cent concession in fares to women passengers across classes of Rajasthan roadways buses within the state limits, an official spokesperson said. Gehlot had announced in the 2023-24 budget that the concession in fares for women passengers in ordinary roadways buses would be increased from 30 to 50 per cent. This was implemented from April 1. At the inauguration of the bus terminal at Sindhi Camp here on May 25, the chief minister had announced that the concession would also be extended to Rajasthan roadways' buses.
