Delegation of 15 teachers from US visits Delhi govt-run schools: Officials

A delegation of 15 teachers from the US visited Delhi government-run schools on Wednesday as a part of a Fulbright Teachers for Global Classroom programme, officials said. The Fulbright Teachers for Global Classroom programme is being run by the US government. Accompanied by Delhi Education Minister Atishi, the delegation visited Rajkiya Sarvodaya Kanya/Bal Vidyalaya in West Vinod Nagar, officials said. They engaged with the primary section, participated in the "happiness class" and experienced the Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum class as well, the Delhi government officials said. Interacting with the delegation, Atishi said the Delhi government's aim was to eliminate the perceived "division" between public and private schools and make quality education accessible to every child. Delhi school evacuated after bomb threat, nothing suspicious found yet

A school in South Delhi's Pushp Vihar received a bomb threat via e-mail following which police were informed and the school evacuated, officials said on Tuesday. Delhi Police and bomb disposal squad were rushed to Amrita School after being informed about the threat by the school authorities, a senior police officer said. The school was immediately evacuated and buildings were checked but nothing suspicious was found so far, the officer said, adding further investigation was underway.

School in Delhi's Defence Colony evacuated after bomb threat via email

A school in Delhi's Defence Colony was evacuated Wednesday morning after an e-mail said there were bombs on the premises, police said. The bomb squad and other agencies are inspecting the school for any such explosive substances, they said. A senior police officer said a person named Brijesh of Indian School, BRT Road, informed them about the email. The email was received at 10:49 am, the officer said. Delhi school receives bomb threat in e-mail, nothing recovered: Police

The Delhi Police on Monday received an email regarding a bomb being placed on a school campus here in south Delhi, officials said. A senior police officer said that the email was received on Monday regarding the bomb placed in Indian Public School, Sadiq Nagar. The local police were informed and the bomb disposal squad, and dog squad rushed to the spot. The school campus was evacuated and a thorough search has been made, police said. However, nothing has been recovered. It seems to be a mischief, the officer said, adding that the details of the email are being checked.

Shootings at two southeastern Brazil schools leave three dead, 11 wounded

A shooter armed with a semiautomatic pistol and wearing a bulletproof vest fatally shot two teachers and a student, and wounded 11 on Friday after barging into two schools in southeastern Brazil, authorities said.
