Tata Motors inks pact with Tata Power for rooftop solar project in Pune

Tata Motors on Tuesday said it has inked a pact with Tata Power to install and operate a 3 MWp rooftop solar project at its passenger vehicle business unit (PVBU) plant in Pune. The automaker said it has signed a solar power purchase agreement with Tata Power. The solar rooftop project is expected to generate nearly 45 lakh KWh per year, reducing carbon emissions by around 3,538 tonnes per year, it added. "After the recent inauguration of India's largest solar carport at our car plant in Pune, this project marks a new milestone in our ongoing efforts to reduce our impact on the planet," Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle Business Unit Vice President - Operations - Rajesh Khatri said in a statement. Adani Green Energy acquires 75 MW solar capacities from Sterling & Wilson

Adani Green Energy on Friday said it has acquired 100 per cent stake in two special purpose vehicles (SPVs) that own 75 MW operating solar projects in Telangana from Sterling & Wilson. The projects, commissioned in 2017, have long-term power purchase agreements (PPA) with the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana. "Adani Green Energy Limited has completed acquisition of 100 per cent of the share capital and all the securities of Surajkiran Solar Technologies Private Limited and Dinkar Technologies Private Limited from Sterling and Wilson Private Limited," it said in a BSE filing. Power major DVC moots 1,776-MW floating solar projects to add capacity

State-owned thermal power major Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) will focus only on solar projects to add capacity, a top official said. It has already mooted 1776-MW floating solar projects in four of its dams in West Bengal and Jharkhand, the two states that jointly own the corporation along with the Union government. DVC has finalised a 50-MW solar project at Panchet (West Bengal), the tender for which has been floated, he said. "We will execute 1776-MW floating solar plants in the four dams of Maithon, Tilaya, Konar and Panchet. The project will be executed in three phases and the first will be of 50MW," DVC member secretary Prabir Kumar Mukhopadhyay told PTI.
