Saurabh wins gold in junior shooting meet
India's Saurabh Chaudhary today claimed the individual gold medal in men's 10m air pistol event at the 28th Meeting of Shooting Hopes junior international championship in Plzen, Czech Republic. Chaudhary shot 245.4 in the finals to win he top prize ahead of the Russian duo of Aleksandr Kondrashin (240.0) and Anton Arisarkhov (219.1). Arjun Singh Cheema finished fourth with 195.7. Teen sensation Manu Bhaker added two team gold medals in her kitty, winning the top prizes in women's 25m pistol and 10m pistol. Bhaker, however, had to be contend with the fourth place in the 25m individual pistol event after scoring 23. Arunima Gaur was seventh. For the team gold, Bhaker shot 584, Arunima 567 and Muskan 564.

Amit Rohidas scored a brace to help Indian men's hockey 'A' team register a come-from-behind 5-3 win over South Korea in the third practice match, here today. South Korea started with a bang, scoring back-to-back goals in the fifth and eight minutes through a field strike and penalty corner conversion by Seo Inwoo and Kim Sungyeob respectively. The hosts pulled one back in the 15th minute when young forward Sumit Kumar converted a well-assisted field goal. Atwal makes cut at John Deere Classic, Chopra misses out
Indian golfer Arjun Atwal added a 1-under 70 to get to 3-under 139 and make the cut at the John Deere Classic on a rain-hit second day here. The second round was completed today morning. Atwal, the first and only Indian winner on the PGA Tour, was making only his third start this season. This, however, was the first cut he made. Yesterday evening he had two birdies against one bogey and the rest were pars. Daniel Chopra, who has made one cut and missed the two others, played in the same group as Atwal.
