Katherine Kirk fired a personal best and a course-record-tying 10-under, 62 to lead after day one. Aditi was seven shots off the leader. She teed off from 10th and made birdies on 10, 11 and 12 and then had four more towards the end of the front nine to go out in 29. Kirk then closed with three more birdies on her inward nine. Sei Young Kim is in second place after a 9-under 63, which included six birdies in a row on her back nine. Brittany Marchand and Megan Khang are tied for third at 8-under. Emma Talley made an incredible nine birdies over a ten hole stretch between the second hole and the 11th. She was 8-under after 11 and looked set for 59 watch despite opening with a bogey. Anirban Lahiri was on fire in the second round after a solid 69 in his first round Greenbrier Classic. A bogeyfree 3-under 67 gave Lahiri a good start in the opening round. Then he had four birdies in first five holes to move to 7-under and was tied-2nd at one stage. He has still has more than nine holes to play in second round. The 31-year-old Indian, who has been slowly coming into the form that fetched him two top-10 finishes and some other good results at the start of the wrap-around season last October, opened with a birdie and then had 10 pars before finding further birdies on 12th and 18th. In the second round, he had three in a row to start the day with birdies from 15 feet, 12 feet and 19 feet. He parred the 13th, his fourth hole of the second day, and then again holed 14-footer for his fourth birdie. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) today extended till July 9 the deadline for making application for the positions of the coaches of Mumbai Ranji and Under-19 teams. The decision was taken after its re-jigged Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC) met here. Earlier the cricket body had sought applications by July 4, and scheduled interviews for today. "A lot of applications have been already submitted for Ranji Trophy and U-19...But we need little more time, so we have extended for three days (the deadline)," former India pacer Karsan Ghavri, who chaired the CIC meeting, said. "The people who have been missed out for applying in this time frame, they have more time and they will be considered (if they apply)," Ghavri added. The CIC will meet next Wednesday for interviewing candidates, he said. Meghalayas woman football referee, Ri-iohlang Dhar, will be officiating at the South Asian U-15 girls football tournament in Bhutan next month, a Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) official said here today. Dhar, one of the three FIFA women referees in India, successfully completed the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) course for 'elite' referees last month, the official said. The official said Dhar was selected to officiate at the prestigious South Asian U-15 girls tournament in Bhutan next month after she completed the AFC elite referees course. When contacted, Dhar said she attended the elite referee coaching in Malaysia from June 25-28. Dhar had officiated in this year's Indian Womens League football match held here.
