Individual honours for Neha, Anmol, Devanshi as India bag 5 medals in Junior World Cup

Neha, Anmol Jain and Devanshi Dhama won individual honours as India claimed two gold, one silver and two bronze medals on the opening day of competition to lead the table in the ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany. In total, India won five medals (two team gold, two individual bronze a silver) in the two events -- 50m junior men's pistol and 50m junior women's pistol. In the men's junior individual pistol competition, Anmol finished third with a score of 549 over six series, behind Russia's gold medallist Mikhail Isakov (553) and silver winner Zhehao Wang (550) of China. Arjun Singh Cheema (548) was and Gaurav Rana was fifth with 546. The trio's combined score of 1643 helped them win the team gold medal ahead of Russia and Italy. Contrasting fortunes for Aditi in opening two rounds of Arkansas golf

India's Aditi Ashok produced contrasting cards in the first and second rounds of the 54-hole Walmart NW Arkansas Golf Championship here. Aditi, whose seven-under 64 in the first round gave her tied second place, slipped dramatically to tied 68th and made the cut on the line as she dropped to five-over 76 in the second round. On the first day, Aditi had seven birdies against no bogeys, while on the second day she had six bogeys and just one birdie. Minjee Lee and Nasa Hataoka each posted 64s on Friday and 65s yesterday to share the 36-hole lead. They lead at 13-under and are two shots clear of Lexi Thompson, who carded a seven-under 64. Vani Kapoor finishes tied 54th in Pattaya

Indian golfer Vani Kapoor rounded off the week with a modest one-over 73 to finish tied 54th at the Ladies European Thailand Championship here today. Vani, who has also been playing on the LET Access Tour, had four birdies against five bogeys in her card at the Phoenix Gold Golf and Country Club. She totalled six-over 294. Modest finish for Indians at Korea Open; Chikka best at T-28

S Chikkarangappa was the best among Indians on a fairly disappointing day for his fellow countrymen in the Kolon Korea Open Golf Championship as he finished Tied-28th after returning a 1-over 72 card in the final round.
