Gabriel Jesus struck with virtually the last kick at St Mary's to take City to the century mark in suitably dramatic fashion. Guardiola's wild celebration with his backroom staff showed what it meant to the Spaniard for City to achieve yet another astonishing feat. "It's incredible, I don't have words, 100 points!" Guardiola said. "When you win for 100 points it's something special for the club. I think it's a record that will stay for a long time. "All season we didn't surrender, we never gave up and tried until the end. It was an amazing finish from Gabriel." City's 100-point haul comes after they set a new Premier ...

Chennai outplayed us: Willamson

Outgunned by the swashbuckling century from Ambati Rayudu, Kane Williamson conceded that the Sunrisers Hyderabad were outplayed by southern rivals Chennai Super Kings. Chennai certainly outplayed us today. There were a lot of positives to take to our next game, but it is important that we move on quickly, said the captain of the league leaders after Sunrisers were drubbed by eight wickets by the Super Kings. Rayudu remained unconquered on a 62-ball 100 that contained seven sixes and as many fours as CSK chased down SRH's 179 for 4 by riding on his pulsating knock and the century stand (134) he put on with Shane Watson (57 off 35 balls). He seems to be doing it every day. The way he goes about his business hitting the ball fairly conventional areas and hitting it hard as well, it was a great knock to watch, (even) if you are in the opposition team. It was a superb knock and certainly saw his team home in chasing what should have been a tough total to chase, he said in praise of ...

Salah sets new Premier League goal tally

Mohamed Salah scored a record-breaking 32nd goal of the Premier League season today as the Liverpool star set a new mark for the most goals in a 38-game campaign. Salah went into the last day of the season at Anfield with a share of the record alongside Alan Shearer (Blackburn in 1995-96), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United in 2007-08) and Luis Suarez (Liverpool in 2013-14). But the Egypt forward needed only 26 minutes to make the record his personal property as he produced a clinical left-footed finish from inside the Brighton penalty area. Salah, who was voted the Premier League's Player of the Year earlier in the day, has now scored 44 goals in 51 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season. Shearer (Newcastle in 1993-94) and Andy Cole (Manchester United in 1993-94) jointly hold the Premier League record of 34 goals in a 42-match season.

Rayudu can play both pacers and spinners equally well: Dhoni

Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni today heaped praise on Ambati Rayudu for helping his side beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in an IPL match with an unbeaten century, saying he's someone who can score runs equally well against both pacers and spinners. Opener Rayudu smashed his maiden IPL century, a 100 not out which he made from 62 balls with the help of seven fours and seven sixes as CSK chased down the target of 180 with one over to spare. "Even before IPL started I had to make space for Rayudu, because he is somebody I rate him very highly. He can play both the fast bowlers and spinners very well. Most teams look to exploit the opener with spin bowling. He is someone who doesn't look like a big hitter but almost clears the field every time he plays the big shot," Dhoni said after his side beat the Sunrisers by eight wickets. Dhoni was, however, surprised that ball did not swing much when his side batted. "I thought the ball will swing more in the second half than what it ...

Romanian Halep has received a first round bye and will open against either former two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka of Belarus or Japan's Naomi Osaka on the clay surface at the Foro Italico. "But, I cannot plan anything. So I'm taking every tournament as important. I'm giving everything I have every week. Like I did before Melbourne, I went to Shenzhen, I won singles, doubles. "I'm doing nothing special before a Grand Slam. Just taking care of your body to be healthy. And if nothing .
