Candice Warner, wife of Australia's sacked vice-captain David Warner, holds herself responsible for her husband's role in the ball-tampering scandal, adding that the incident has deeply affected their family."I feel like it's all my fault and it's killing me - it's absolutely killing me," Candice Warner said in an interview to Sydney's Sunday Telegraph.Candice was referring to the confrontation that took place between Warner and South Africa wicket-keeper-batsman Quinton de Kock, during the first Test match in Durban, earlier in March, which seemingly provoked the former Australian vice-captain to plan the infamous step during the third Test. The brawl happened allegedly after Kock made a distasteful comment about Candice. The confrontation was so severe that current Australian skipper Tim Paine had to calm Warner down, while batsman Usman Khawaja held him back.Ultimately, it was former captain Steve Smith who whisked him away from the scene."It was just something that I don't believe ..

The left-handed Divij Sharan, who was a reserve in the Indian Davis Cup team, has decided not to travel for the away tie against China, a move which may soon pave the way for introduction of a code of conduct for players. The 32-year old Sharan is willing to rush to Tianjin for the April 6-7 tie in case his services are required but his decision has not gone down well with the AITA selection committee. Sharan is the second-highest ranked Indian player in doubles at number 44 but veteran Leander Paes was chosen ahead of the Delhi player along with Rohan Bopanna, the country's best ranked player at number 20. Paes is just one place behind Sharan at number 45 but his priceless experience won him the nod of the selectors for the away-tie, in which a win would put India in contention for the elite World Group yet again. It has been learnt that Sharan was not keen to travel unless he was assured of a place in the playing squad. He may be justified in skipping the tie since there is least ...

South African fast bowler Dale Steyn revealed today that he is targeting a stint with English county Hampshire in June as his comeback to competitive cricket. Steyn, 34, has seldom played in the past two years because of injuries. But he told SuperSport television that he was close to full fitness after missing the series against Australia following his latest setback, a heel injury suffered in the first Test against India in January. "I could get through 12 or 15 overs but that's not enough to be competitive in a Test match," he said. Steyn is just two short of Shaun Pollock's South African Test record of 421 wickets. He is likely to have another chance to break the record when South Africa tour Sri Lanka in July and August. "The Proteas don't play for quite a while," said Steyn. "I'm going to take another month off. I'm not going to the IPL (Indian Premier League). I'm looking to go over to Hampshire in June to play a little bit of cricket, then Sri Lanka in July.

James Vince made 76 and Mark Stoneman 60 as England took firm control of the second cricket Test against New Zealand here today, reaching 202-3 to lead by 231 runs at stumps on the third day. Joe Root was 30 not out and Dawid Malan 19 when stumps were drawn three overs early because of bad light. Vince broke a form drought with the third half century of his career and Stoneman posted his highest test score and second fifty of the series in a 123-run partnership for the second wicket which allowed England to build decisively on its 29-run first innings lead. But while both batsman finally prospered on a docile pitch at Hagley Oval, they likely also gave up the chance to fully capitalize on perfect batting conditions. Vince looked on track at least to surpass his highest test score of 83 -- achieved in the first test of the Ashes series in Australia -- but a lapse in concentration cost him dearly. He was well set and batting fluently, having reached his half century from 71 balls, when .

Sindhu had suffered a sprain on her right ankle while practicing at the Gopichand Academy on Tuesday but scans showed no injury to the bone or ligament, much to the relief of Indian contingent and fans. "Preparation wise everything has been going on well for me. Of course, unfortunately, I sprained my ankle a bit but I think I should be fine by the time the Games starts, I hope I will be completely fit by then," the 22-year-old Indian told PTI. Four years ago, Sindhu had hoped of retaining the women's singles gold that Saina Nehwal won for India for the first time in the Delhi edition. However, the yellow metal eluded her and she settled for a bronze after losing in the semifinals to Canada's Michelle Li. A lot has changed since then and Sindhu is currently India's top ...
