TCS, Now Corporation partner to boost Philippine digital infrastructure

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Monday said it has partnered with NOW Corporation's telecom arm to boost digital infrastructure and enable financial inclusivity in the Philippines. Now Telecom is a public sector telecommunications company in the Philippines offering services across mobile networks and fixed wireless. "Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, has partnered with NOW Corporation's telecom arm Now Telecom, a public sector telecommunications company, to bolster national digital sovereignty, enable financial inclusivity, and build a clean network for the Philippines," according to a release. With this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in place, the release said, TCS will support the company with capabilities to expand trusted networks, provide sovereign cloud technology and a cyber-defence suite, alongside creating citizen-centric services in areas such as healthcare and digital banking, promoting financial .

Mcap of 7 of top-10 valued firms erodes by ₹1.35 trn, TCS biggest laggard

The combined market valuation of seven of the 10 most valued firms eroded by Rs 1.35 lakh crore last week, with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) taking the biggest hit. Last week, the BSE benchmark tanked 863.18 points or 1.05 per cent. TCS, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Infosys, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and Bajaj Finance faced a combined erosion of Rs 1,35,349.93 crore from their market valuation last week. However, Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank and Hindustan Unilever saw an increase in their mcap. Together, these three firms added Rs 39,989.72 crore in market valuation. The valuation of TCS tumbled Rs 47,487.4 crore to Rs 10,86,547.86 crore. The market capitalisation (mcap) of Bharti Airtel eroded by Rs 29,936.06 crore to Rs 10,74,903.87 crore. Bajaj Finance's valuation tanked Rs 22,806.44 crore to Rs 5,44,962.09 crore and that of Infosys dropped by Rs 18,694.23 crore to Rs 6,10,927.33 crore. HCLTech CEO Vijayakumar earns $10.85 mn in FY25; tops TCS, Infosys heads

HCLTech CEO C Vijayakumar earned USD 10.85 million (about Rs 94.6 crore) in the financial year 2024-25, making him one of the highest-paid executives in the Indian IT sector and surpassing the earnings of chiefs at larger rivals TCS and Infosys. The company's board has also approved an over 71 per cent increase in his current remuneration to USD 18.6 million (about Rs 154 crore) for the next financial year, according to the company's annual report. Vijayakumar's FY25 compensation places him ahead of his peers at India's top two IT firms. For the same period, TCS CEO K Krithivasan's remuneration was Rs 26.52 crore, while Infosys CEO Salil Parekh earned Rs 80.62 crore. Vijayakumar's earnings also topped those of Wipro CEO Srinivas Pallia (USD 6.2 million or about Rs 53.64 crore) and Tech Mahindra CEO Mohit Joshi (Rs 53.9 crore). TCS market value drops by ₹28,149 crore after layoff plan announcement

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has lost Rs 28,148.72 crore from its market valuation in two days after the company announced that it will lay off about 12,000 employees of its global workforce this year. On Tuesday, the bellwether stock declined 0.73 per cent to settle at Rs 3,056.55 apiece at the BSE. During the day, it dropped 1.23 per cent to Rs 3,041. On the NSE, it dipped 0.72 per cent to Rs 3,057. Shares of TCS had declined nearly 2 per cent on Monday. The stock has lost 2.48 per cent in two trading days. The market capitalisation (mcap) of TCS eroded by Rs 28,148.72 crore to Rs 11,05,886.54 crore in two days.
