Don't fall for Congress' lies, says Yediyurappa in poll-bound Telangana

Senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa on Wednesday accused the Congress of deceiving the people of Karnataka by not implementing its five pre-poll guarantees after coming to power. The former Karnataka CM also urged the people of Telangana not to fall for Congress party's "lies and empty promises". Addressing reporters here, he said 'Karnataka model' is Congress' election model in other states. The Congress had promised five guarantees to voters in Karnataka and won the elections in May this year. It is selling "Karnataka model" in Telangana and other poll-bound states, he said. "The party has, in fact, hoodwinked the people in Karnataka after winning the elections as its government has failed to implement the guarantee schemes," he added. "The Congress manifesto includes six guarantee schemes only to cheat the voters of the state. I appeal, request the people of Telangana not to get cheated by Congress party's lies and empty promises," he said.

T'gana polls: Kamareddy to see three-way contest, but advantage to BRS

Kamareddy assembly seat is set to witness a three-way contest in the coming elections with BRS at an advantage on account of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) contesting from here and the party's organisational prowess having an edge over the relatively weak opposition. State Congress President Revanth Reddy and BJP's K Venkata Ramana Reddy are pitted against the CM. The electoral battle in Kamareddy constituency has intensified with two political heavyweights ready to take on each other on November 30. Reddy picked up the gauntlet after BRS chief chose to contest from a second seat, Kamareddy, after five-time MLA Gampa Govardhan was dropped. As a result, former Congress Minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir had to shift to Nizamabad Urban constituency. Reddy being an outsider and Shabbir moving to another constituency, it has become a challenge for the Congress, while the BJP has fielded a local candidate who finished third with 15,000-odd votes in the 2018 assembly ...

T'gana polls: BRS pins hopes on civic infra, job creation to woo voters

Enhanced civic infrastructure, job creation and "well maintained" law and order, among others, in Hyderabad and adjoining areas which constitute 24 segments in the 119 member-assembly in Telangana, are some of the key issues being highlighted by the ruling BRS party during its poll campaign in the run up to the upcoming elections. There are 15 seats in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits with 45.37 lakh voters, while nine are located in the adjoining parts of the city with over 50 lakh electors. The BRS won a majority of the seats in the 2018 assembly polls while Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM won seven seats. AIMIM is said to have strongholds in the constituencies located in the southern part of the city. Goshamahal is the only seat won by the BJP in the 2018 polls. T Raja Singh represents the segment. The higher concentration of voters, with nearly 30 per cent of the total 3.26 crore, forces all political parties to focus more on various rallies, mostly roadshows, pad
