UP to provide bus connectivity to 12,200 villages: Transport minister

Uttar Pradesh Transport Minister Daya Shankar Singh on Sunday said 12,200 villages that are currently deprived of state roadways bus service will be connected with public transport facilities in the next one year. Singh also said that 23 bus stations in the state are being developed on the lines of airports. "12,200 villages in the state that are currently deprived of state roadways bus service will be connected with transport facilities within a year," Singh said while talking to PTI here. He said UP is playing a leading role in the country in the transport sector. "The state is at the forefront in terms of transport policy. We are leading in issuing driving licences, and rank third in automated testing stations. In the next six months, we will also secure the top position in this area," he said. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said the slogan 'vote chor, gaddi chhod' (vote thief, vacate your seat of power) has proved across the country and the party will establish it in "more dramatic ways". As unrest continues in Nepal, Uttar Pradesh's border districts saw empty markets, with residents grappling with cancelled travel plans and severed family contacts across the frontier and many expressing concern over the disruption of their daily lives. FIR filed in Lucknow over alleged 2016 X-ray technician recruitment fraud

An FIR has been registered in Lucknow over alleged irregularities in the 2016 recruitment of X-ray technicians in Uttar Pradesh's health department, where one person allegedly secured jobs in different districts under the same name, officials said on Tuesday. The complaint, filed by Dr Ranjana Khare, director (paramedical) at the Directorate General of Medical and Health Services, said that the accused allegedly used forged documents to impersonate a candidate --? Arpit Singh, son of Anil Kumar Singh --? whose name appeared at serial number 80 on the recruitment list declared by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission in 2016. According to the FIR registered at Wazirganj police station, the alleged fraud resulted in appointments in Balrampur, Farrukhabad, Rampur, Banda, Amroha and Shamli districts, with the individuals drawing salaries since 2016 and causing financial loss to the state exchequer. UP to launch world's first ceramic waste park in Khurja this month

Uttar Pradesh is set to unveil 'Anokhi Duniya', the world's first-ever park crafted entirely from ceramic waste, according to officials. Built in Khurja, the state's renowned "ceramic capital," the park is slated to open to the public by the end of September. As per a press statement, the project is a significant part of the Yogi government's efforts to globally promote traditional industries and products, following the success of the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. Dr. Ankur Lathar, Vice-Chairman of the Bulandshahr-Khurja Development Authority (BKDA), the park has been constructed on a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model across a sprawling 2-acre area. UP approves policy to boost manufacturing of key electronics components

The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday approved an electronics component manufacturing policy with an investment target of Rs 5,000 crore to promote production of 11 key components such as displays and camera modules. The policy, aligned with the Centre's Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), will come into effect from April 1, 2025, for a period of six years, according to an official statement. The Uttar Pradesh Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy-2025 (UP ECMP-2025) aims to promote the production of 11 key electronic components including displays, camera modules, and multilayer PCBs, with an investment target of Rs 5,000 crore and the potential to create lakhs of jobs, it stated. Vintage car owners in UP can now register vehicles under MoRTH rules

Vintage vehicle enthusiasts in Uttar Pradesh can now register their prized cars and bikes in the "vintage" category, with the state transport department starting the facility in line with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways' (MoRTH) 2021 notification. Officials on Monday said the move will provide clarity, ease of compliance and help preserve the heritage value of these vehicles. The facility has been rolled out under the provisions of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
