Morale of armed forces high: Rajnath

The morale of armed forces in the country is high and they are achieving success in neutralising terrorists, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Monday. Singh's remarks came days after a terrorist rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a bus carrying CRPF personnel in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 40 jawans. "Despite all the situations, morale of armed forces is high. You can see how success is being achieved in neutralising terrorists," Singh told reporters on the sidelines of an event. Inaugurating the Cyber Prevention Awareness and Detection (CyPAD) Centre and the National Cyber Forensic Lab (NCFL) in Dwarka here, Singh termed cyber crime as the biggest challenge to "a completely digital India". The national security agencies and police will use facilities at NCFL set up under Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (ICCCC). Delhi's Lt Governor Anil Baijal and Commissioner of Police Amulya Patnaik were present at the function.

Three held for posting anti-India video in social media

: Three people were Monday arrested in the Nizamabad district of Telangana for allegedly uploading anti-national and pro-Pakistan video on the social media in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack, police said. The trio - two from Uttar Pradesh and another from Telangana - uploaded the video. The video purportedly showed the three dancing with a voice in the background allegedly raising anti-India and pro-Pakistan slogans, an investigating official told PTI over phone. Upon seeing the video, a person complained to the police. Based on the complaint, a case under IPC sections 153 A (promoting enmity) and 505 (2) (public mischief) was registered and the trio arrested, the official said. Forty CRPF personnel were killed last Thursday in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir when a Jaish suicide bomber rammed a vehicle carrying explosives into their bus in Pulwama district.

Militants kill 6 Pak soldiers in Balochistan near Iran

Six Pakistani soldiers have been killed by militants in two separate incidents in the country's restive Balochistan province bordering Iran, officials said Monday. The first incident reported from the mountainous Panjgur district where four soldiers of the Frontier Corps (FC) were killed by militants on Sunday. The attack took place hours after two FC personnel were gunned down in Loralai area near Iran border. FC Balochistan spokesperson Wasay Khan said the militants struck when guards were being changed at the check posts. Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Madad Khan has condemned the attacks and termed them as attempts to disrupt peace and progress in the province which shares its borders with Iran and Afghanistan. "It is a conspiracy against the Balochistan and development projects in the province," he said. Pulwama attack: Ajay Devgn's 'Total Dhamaal' not to release in Pakistan

Ajay Devgn will not release his upcoming film 'Total Dhamaal' in Pakistan, in the wake of Pulwama terror attack, in which around 40 CRPF personnel were killed last week. US-Taliban talks in Pakistan postponed

The talks between the US and Afghan Taliban slated for Monday here have been postponed, according to the insurgent group which alleged that some members of its negotiating team could not travel to Pakistan for the meeting due to sanctions imposed by America and the UN. Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid announced last week that talks with the US will take place in Pakistan's capital, while they will also meet Prime Minister Imran Khan. "The Islamic Emirate had arranged for their representatives to participate but unfortunately, most members of the negotiations team were unable to travel due to the US and UN blacklist and the meeting was postponed, the Taliban said in a statement. Rajasthan: Man held for sending anti-India remarks on Facebook

Shootout wounds five bystanders near New Orleans tourism area

A gunbattle between police and a suspect on the edge of New Orleans' French Quarter tourism district left five bystanders wounded Sunday evening, police said. Police shot and killed the suspect during the incident, which occurred almost two weeks before the Louisiana city's renowned Mardi Gras festival. All of those injured were at a bus stop and one was left in critical condition, New Orleans Police Chief Shaun Ferguson told reporters. Ferguson said officers tried to question a man in connection with recent robberies when he pulled a weapon and opened fire at Canal and Elk streets. Pulwama: 2 JeM terrorists killed in encounter

Two Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists were killed in an ongoing encounter with security forces in Pinglan area of Pulwama district on Monday.Security forces recovered an AK-47 and a pistol from the site.The encounter comes four days after 40 CRPF personnel were killed in a suicide attack orchestrated by the JeM - a Pakistan-based terror outfit- in Awantipora area of Pulwama. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Pinglan area of Pulwama district of south Kashmir during the night after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in the area, a police official said. He said as the forces were conducting searches, the militants fired upon them, triggering off a gun battle. Defence sources said four soldiers, including an officer, were killed in the encounter. A civilian was also reportedly killed but there was no confirmation so far. The area is under cordon and the operation is still on.
