Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said the confluence of "bhakti and shakti" led to the construction of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya by breaking the "saga of 500 years of slavery." Speaking at the Geeta Bhakti Amrit Mahotsav at Alandi in Maharashtra's Pune district, Adityanath also lauded Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for challenging Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's authority. The consecration of Ram Lalla's idol at the Ayodhya temple was held in a grand ceremony on January 22 this year. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday hit out at leader of opposition Akhilesh Yadav and accused him of impoverishing the state in his tenure. "In the five years of your tenure you gave a failure state but we made a secure state. You looted millions and we will give the state one trillion," he said addressing Yadav in the UP Legislative Assembly. His statement was followed by a round of applause from the treasury benches. UP Assembly passes bill for transfer of property on stamp duty of Rs 5000

The Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Friday passed the Indian Stamp (Uttar Pradesh Amendment) Bill-2024, which has a provision that the transfer of a property between blood relatives can be done by paying a stamp duty of Rs 5,000. Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna piloted the bill. He said the purchase and sale of land was done by making 'power of attorney', due to which there was loss of revenue. For example, the business of selling land worth crores of rupees by making 'power of attorney' at a nominal fee was going on in full swing, but now a provision has been made that people outside blood relations will have to pay stamp duty of seven per cent of the circle rate on the power of attorney, he said. This condition will not apply to 'power of attorney' only for the maintenance of lands. 85,152 posts of headmasters, assistant teachers vacant in UP, says Govt

The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday said that 85,152 posts of headmasters and assistant teachers are vacant in the state, but taking shiksha mitras and instructors into account, the student-teacher ratio is complete and there is no problem in teaching. "At present, under the Basic Education Department, both shiksha mitra and instructor cooperate in studies," Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh said while answering the questions of Samajwadi Party members Anil Pradhan and Abhay Singh during the Question Hour in the budget session of the legislative assembly. Singh said that in basic education, the number of teachers, including part-time instructors, shiksha mitras and assistant teachers is currently 6,28,915 in the state. UP Budget: Rs 195 cr for sports, 50 international trainers to be hired

With a view to provide world-class training to athletes at residential sports hostels, the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday proposed in the next fiscal's budget hiring of 50 international trainers. The state budget has proposed Rs 195 crore for the development of sports infrastructure in various districts, which is 67 per cent more than the current year. The state government said that 50 international players will be enlisted for training of sportsmen at an honorarium of Rs 1.5 lakh per month, state's finance minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said. He said Rs 50 crore is proposed for the construction of sports infrastructure with private participation in the state and Rs 50 crore for to reward the victorious players in national and international competitions. He said Rs 12 crore is proposed for the setting up of a sports science and injury centre.

Budget FY25: UP govt proposes Rs 1,150 cr for Noida International Airport

The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated Rs 1,150 crore for the upcoming Noida International Airport at GautamBuddha Nagar in the budget for 2024-25. The announcement was made by UP's Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna as he tabled the budget for the fiscal year in the state assembly on Monday. "A provision of Rs 1,150 crore is proposed for the establishment of an international airport and the purchase of land in Jewar of GautamBuddha Nagar district," Khanna said. Development is underway for phase one of Noida International Airport, which is scheduled to open for commercial operations by the end of this year. Earlier in his budget speech, Khanna said that with the inauguration of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, four international airports have become operational in the state and South Asia's largest international airport is going to open soon in Jewar, Noida. The Uttar Pradesh government's FY25 budget on Monday proposed an allocation of Rs 100 crore for organising Mahakumbh-2025 while providing funds for an international Ramayan and Vedic research centre in Ayodhya. Presenting the state budget, Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said that Rs 100 crore is being proposed for organising Mahakumbh-2025 A provision of Rs 14.68 crore has been made for the setting up of Nishad Raj Guha Cultural Centre, Shringverpur, Rs 11.79 crore for the establishment of a music college in Hariharpur of Azamgarh district and another Rs 10.53 crore to set up the Maharishi Valmiki Cultural Centre at Chitrakoot. Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna on Monday said his budget for the next fiscal year will be all-inclusive and help the state become a USD 1-trillion economy. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said no one can stop women from reaching the state assemblies and Parliament now. He said this while discussing the Nari Shakti Vandan Act during an address after launching the "Shakti Vandan Abhiyan" organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan here.
