Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday ordered a high-level probe into the sensational killings of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad and his brother Khalid Azeem alias Ashraf in Prayagraj, officials said. Ahmad (60) and his brother were shot dead at point-blank range by three men posing as journalists in the middle of a media interaction on Saturday night while police personnel were escorting them to a medical college in Prayagraj for a checkup. The brothers, both jailed in Prayagraj, were in handcuffs when they were killed in full view of camera crews around 10 pm. The horrifying visuals were circulated widely on social media platforms and television channels. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday asked officials to make dedicated Covid hospitals functional immediately while making it clear that the coronavirus situation was under control in the state. Amid a spurt in coronavirus cases in the country, Adityanath reviewed the situation in the state during a meeting with the state-level Covid Advisory Committee and Team-9 -- a group of top state officials -- and sought the reactivation of the Integrated Covid Control and Command Centre, a statement said. Average response time of UP police emergency service reduced after 2017: CM

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said before 2017, the average response time of police during an emergency was an hour, which has now reduced to 9.44 minutes. He was reviewing the work of UP-112, women power line 1090 and the technical service of Uttar Pradesh Police. "The utility of police emergency services like 112 depends on its quick response. Adityanath has revived 'pride of our faith': Shinde during courtesy visit

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday said his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath has "revived the pride of our faith" and appreciated the development works undertaken by the state government in Ayodhya. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday exhorted people of Uttar Pradesh to vote for the BJP in the upcoming urban local body polls, saying a triple-engine government is a must for uninterrupted and rapid development of the state. He also appealed to people to make the lotus -- the BJP's poll symbol -- bloom in municipal and Lok Sabha polls in 2024. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said one crore youths of the state will get employment in the next three years through investment proposals received at the recently held Global Investors Summit. He was speaking after laying the foundation stone of a rural mini-stadium at Bholaram Maskara Inter College in Sahjanwa here, which will be built at a cost of Rs 10.43 crore. The stadium will have a multi-sports complex, athletics track and an audience gallery.
