After the plenary session of SCO Summit in Bishkek where all the leaders of member states addressed each other on wide range of issues, all the heads of the member countries signed documents. For a change, Thor picks up a guitar instead of his signature hammer

New Delhi, June 14 (ANI): Chris Hemsworth, popularly known by his character Thor, replaced his hammer for a guitar. The superhero recently posted a video of him singing, on his social media account. Chris had a funny take on his video as is implied by his caption- "Not sure why everyone's so worried about Thor, he's fine guys". In the video we can see him playing an acoustic version of the Johnny Cash's song 'Hurt'. In last edition of Avengers, Hemsworth's superhero character is featured as a person who is depressed by the loss of his friends and family. Being into depression, he drinks heavily and gains considerable amount of weight. In the video Chris is seen singing with tears trickling down his face. Explaining the song, Chris stated that he was playing the song to get into Thor's character and as per him "It's the saddest song in the world". Harsh Vardhan urges CM Mamata to not make doctors' strike prestige issue

New Delhi, June 14 (ANI): After West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee gave an ultimatum to protesting junior doctors to withdraw their strike, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan appealed the former to make the doctors' strike a "prestige issue", and said as a result of her ultimatum, the doctors got angry and went on strike. "I appeal to West Bengal Chief minister to not make this an issue of prestige. She gave the doctors an ultimatum; as a result they got angry and went on strike. Today, I will write to Mamata Banerjee and will also try to speak to her on this issue," Dr Harsh Vardhan told ANI. The Health Minister had also met the Resident Doctors Association of AIIMS, and appealed them to hold only symbolic protests, and said that government is committed towards their safety. The junior doctors have been on strike since Tuesday over violence against their colleagues in West Bengal.

CM Gehlot launches MSME web portal to attract more investment

Jaipur (Rajasthan), June 14 (ANI): In a bid to attract investment in the state, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot recently launched MSME web portal in capital Jaipur. While addressing the gathering, CM asserted that various steps were being taken to make Rajasthan an investor-friendly state. He dubbed Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Facilitation of Establishment and Operation) Ordinance, brought in March 2019 and newly launched MSME web portal as revolutionary steps in the direction of achieving the mission. The Chief Minister also claimed that Rajasthan is the first state in the country to implement such a historical ordinance. He also said that MSME entrepreneurs will not be requiring any kind of approval for three years to invest in the state. Filling the self-declaration form on this web portal will ease the process for budding MSME entrepreneurs. He also underlined that a significant number of jobs will be created in the process.

SCO Summit: PM Modi proposes 'international conference' to tackle issue of terrorism

Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Jun 14 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address at the plenary session of SCO Summit in Bishkek, while urging all humanitarian powers to come together against the menace of terrorism, invoked the need for an "international conference" to tackle the issue of terrorism. PM Modi also demanded that countries which are encouraging and financing terrorism must be held accountable. "To tackle the danger of terrorism, all humanitarian powers should come forward together. Countries that provide encouragement, support, and finances to terrorism must be held accountable," said PM Modi.

Cyclone Vayu will not hit Gujarat, state is safe now, says CM Vijay Rupani

Gandhinagar (Gujarat), Jun 14 (ANI): While addressing a press conference, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupanion on Friday said cyclonic storm Vayu no longer posed any threat to the state as it had moved away westward. He said, "It has become clear that Cyclone Vayu will not hit Gujarat, the state is safe now. Government has decided to call back all senior ministers and officials that were sent to tackle the situation in 10 areas that were expected to be affected." It was predicted earlier that the cyclone would make landfall on Gujarat coast Thursday afternoon, leading the government to prepare for possible damage.

Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan offers prayers at Tirupati Temple in Andhra Pradesh

Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Jun 14 (ANI): Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan on Thursday offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara here after the NDA was re-elected for the second term at the Centre. "It was very nice to visit the temple. I along with my wife had visited the temple long ago. Everyone comes here with a wish and those wishes are fulfilled," Paswan told reporters here. Pawan took oath as Union Minister on May 30 along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other ministers. Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), an NDA ally, won six parliamentary seats in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. 2 local RJD leaders shot at in Bihar's Muzaffarpur

Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Jun 14 (ANI): Two local Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders were shot at by unknown assailants in Bihar's Muzaffarpur. Incident happened at Kanti area. Both the injured have been admitted to a hospital. Further investigation is underway. Patients face difficulties due to resident doctors strike at AIIMS Delhi

New Delhi, Jun 14 (ANI): In Delhi, patients are facing difficulties as Resident Doctors Association (RDA) of AIIMS is on strike today over violence against doctors in West Bengal. While speaking to ANI, Relative of a patient said, "My mother's dialysis was scheduled for today, we were told to go and get it done from somewhere else." The Indian Medical Association (IMA) is on a nationwide protest today. Following an incident of mobs chasing and attacking junior doctors at medical colleges in West Bengal, a number of doctors have taken part in strikes to condemn such incidents and demand safe work place for them. One of the junior doctors suffered head injuries due to the attack.

Low levels of circulating Vitamin K linked to mobility limitation in older adults: Study

New Delhi, June 14 (ANI): Scientists have found that a low level of circulating vitamin K is associated with restricted mobility and disability in older adults. According to the study, this newly identified factor can be considered to maintain mobility and independence in old people. The study was published in the 'Journal of Gerontology: Medical Sciences'. Low vitamin K status has been associated with the onset of chronic diseases that lead to disability, but the work to understand this connection is in its infancy. Using participant data from the Health, Aging, and Body Composition Study (Health ABC), the study found that older adults with low levels of circulating vitamin K were more likely to develop mobility limitation and disability.
