Amethi (UP), May 26 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Amethi, Smriti Irani arrived at the residence of Surendra Singh, who got killed in his house by unidentified assailants. She paid her last respects to Singh. Irani was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Minister In-charge of Amethi, Mohsin Raza. The Amethi MP also lends a shoulder to Singh's mortal remains. Surendra Singh was shot by unidentified assailants, when he was sleeping in the verandah of his house in Baraulia village of Amethi at around 3 am on Sunday. He was rushed to a Trauma Centre in Lucknow, where he breathed his last.
Srinagar (JandK), May 26 (ANI): Demand of pickles is witnessing a great surge in Kashmir valley, during the ongoing sacred month of Ramadan when Muslims observe fast from dawn to dusk.Though tongue-tickling pickles are an integrated part of Kashmir's eating habits and are in demand throughout the year, it doubles during the holy month, consumers said.Standing at a famous pickle shop here, a customer said, "Pickles of different tastes and ingredients are preferred for Sheri ritual which is observed by the devout Muslims at dawn and Iftar at dusk."Local markets in Srinagar and other parts of the valley are flooded with a wide range of pickles. Every other provision store has set up special stalls selling pickles to cater to Rozadars' demands.There are more than 70 varieties of pickles available in the market but there are some leading traders who sell up to 100 varieties.Ghulam Qadir Senoo, a shopkeeper, claims to have more than 100 varieties of pickles including non-vegetarian pickles.V

Hyderabad, May 26 (ANI): All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his statement that minorities should stop living in imaginary fear. He said, "If Prime Minister agrees minorities live in fear he should know people who killed Akhlaq (2015 Dadri mob lynching case) were sitting in front bench of electoral public meeting. If PM feels Muslims live in fear, will he stop gangs, who in name of cow are killing, beating Muslims, taking our videos and demeaning us?" He further added, "If Muslims seriously live in fear can the PM tell us, out of the 300 odd MPs, how many Muslim MPs he has in own party who got elected from Lok Sabha? This is the hypocrisy and contradiction which the PM and his party is practicing from last 5 years".
Agra (UP): Two dead bodies were found hanging from a tree in Agra's Kachhpura village. According to Agra Additional Superintendent of Police (East), Pramod Kumar, "Bodies of a boy and a girl were found hanging from a tree in a garden, early morning today. They were missing since last night, bodies have been identified". Bodies have been sent for post-mortem. Further investigation will be conducted.
Bhubaneswar (Odisha), May 26 (ANI): Biju Janata Dal (BJD) chief Naveen Patnaik on Sunday met Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal. He conveyed latter to the Governor that he has been elected as leader of BJD, staked claim to form government in state. The Governor has extended invitation to Naveen Patnaik to form the government in the state. Naveen Patnaik bagged 112 seats out of 146 seats in Odisha state assembly. He is going to be the chief minister of Odisha for the fifth time.
Bhopal (MP), May 26 (ANI): The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath arrived at the residence of ex-chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan and paid his condolences. Shivraj Singh Chouhan's father Prem Singh died in a Mumbai hospital on Saturday. Later, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh also visited Chouhan's residence and paid tribute to his father. The 80-years-old was admitted in a hospital following a constant deterioration in health condition.
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), May 26 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow on murder of Surendra Singh, former village head of Barauli, Director General of Police (DGP) of Uttar Pradesh OP Singh said, "Intensive investigation is underway. We have found vital clues. Seven people have been detained for questioning. We are confident of solving the case in the next 12 hrs. Three companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) are deputed, no law and order situation is affected."

Vadodara (Gujarat), May 26 (ANI): A social activist from Gujarat's Vadodara is translating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' slogan into reality. 26-year-old Nishita Rajput is helping poor girls get free education by crowd sourcing funds for the last eight years, and she has been successful in getting more than 10,000 underprivileged girls to school. Last year, she had raised Rs 69 lakh against her target of one crore, and even this year, she has already raised Rs 32 lakh. "I am working on the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' slogan for the last eight years, and my target last year was one crore, but I received cheques worth Rs 69 lakh. And this year too, my target was one crore, and I have already received cheques worth Rs 32 lakh. So, I am hopeful of achieving the target," Nishita told ANI. Nitisha also expressed hope of establishing a school of her own where she can provide free education to poor girl child at a bigger level.
New Delhi/Amethi (UP), May 26 (ANI): BJP leader Smriti Irani today left for Amethi to meet the family of Surendra Singh, a former village head who was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Saturday night. Singh was shot at his residence and police have taken into few suspects to investigate his murder. Singh had campaigned for Irani who wrested Amethi from Congress president Rahul Gandhi who held the seat since 2004.
Lucknow (UP), May 26 (ANI): While speaking to mediapersons, son of Surendra Singh, ex-village head of Barauli, Amethi who was shot dead yesterday said, "My father was a close aide of Smriti Irani and used to campaign 24/7. After she became MP, Vijay Yatra was carried out. I think some Congress supporters didn't like it, we have suspicions on some people."
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), May 26 (ANI): The mortal remains of former village head from Baraulia, Surendra Singh left for his residence from Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow today. His mortal remains will reach to his native place in Amethi. He was shot dead by unidentified assailants at his residence. Police have taken a few suspects into custody in this case and further investigation is on.

Barclays analyst reportedly met some Apple suppliers and revealed that the 2020 iPhones will have 5G support, 3D sensing through the rear camera system, and acoustic fingerprint technology that could allow Touch ID support for full-screen, MacRumours reports. Meanwhile, the iPhone SE 2 will be launched with iPhone 8 internals early 2020. As for the 2019 iPhones, the analyst indicated that Apple will eliminate 3D Touch from the device to add Haptic Touch. The iPhone XR will have 4GB of RAM.
New Delhi, May 26 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister-elect and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital. Jagan Mohan is scheduled to take oath as Andhra CM on May 30. The YSRCP chief unseated his TDP counterpart Chandrababu Naidu in the bifurcated southern state by winning 151 of the 175 Assembly seats, and bagging 22 of the 25 MP seats. Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), May 26 (ANI): Intelligence officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Hyderabad Zonal Unit intercepted a vehicle and seized around 1,137 kg of cannabis in Andhra Pradesh's Vijayawada. They intercepted a vehicle at Vijayawada and seized cannabis over Rs 2 lakh which was being illegally transported under bulk cargo of Phosphogypsum. It was being transported to Hyderabad from Narsipatnam. Probe is underway in the case.
