Security tightens in Mumbai on occasion of Holi

Mumbai, Mar 21 (ANI): Security has been tightened in Mumbai, Maharashtra on the occasion of Holi festival on Thursday. Police officials kept a strict eye on drivers in order to ensure safe driving. Vehicles were stopped to check license and prevent drunk driving.

Kalraj mishra to not contest lok sabha elections

Two police personnel injured in terrorist attack in J and K's Sopore

Sopore (Jammu and Kashmir), Mar 21 (ANI): Terrorists attacked a Police cordon in Sopore in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. Two policemen including an SHO were injured in the attack. Security forces are on search operation in the area to trace the terrorists. More details are awaited.

LS polls: Will not indulge in horse-trading, says Kamal Haasan

Hyderabadi businessman dies in mishap in Ethiopia

Hyderabad, Mar 21 (ANI): A Hyderabad-based businessman, P Venkata Shashidhar, a businessman from Hyderabad has died in Ethiopia. This incident took place when the car in which he was travelling went up in flames. The 60-year-old man had gone to Ethiopia in February and was scheduled to return home on March 26. The Corps is responsible for guarding the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir. A function was held at the Chinar Corps headquarters to mark the raising day. 60-year-old man arrested for raping 2 minor girls in Pune

3 CRPF jawans dead, 1 injured in incident of fratricide at JandK's Udhampur

Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir), Mar 21 (ANI): Around three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel of the 187th battalion were shot dead by another jawan at battalion's headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur on Wednesday. This incident took place at Battal Ballian area of Udhampur. Harinder Kumar, Commandant 187th Battalion of CRPF said, "Three jawans have died, the one who shot them dead is critically injured." The deceased were later identified as Head Constables Pokermal, Joginder Singh and Umed Singh. Injured constable Ajit Singh was taken to government hospital in Udhampur.

Missing man's body found buried from house in North West Delhi

New Delhi, Mar 21 (ANI): A male body buried in a house in North West Delhi was unearthed on Wednesday by Delhi Police. This incident took place in Swaroop Nagar area of the national capital. The deceased was reportedly missing since last few days. The cause of his death is not known yet. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Outer North district Gaurav Sharma said, "Police has recovered the body. Other facts are being analysed. We have arranged 35,739 wheelchairs, over 52,000 magnifying glasses, over 2213 sign language interpreters and over 31000 assistants." "Sturdy ramps are being arranged in all 58,180 booths and we are ensuring that they are all on ground floors. There will be special queue for Persons with Disabilities and assistance of all kinds will be provided," he added.

BJP panchayat president shot dead in Assam's Cachar

Cachar (Assam), Mar 21 (ANI): Sukhendu Das, Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) panchayat unit president, was shot dead while he was returning home after attending a party meeting on March 19. He was fired at by unidentified gunman near his residence at Assam's Cachar district. He was the president of Borkhola Hatichora panchayat unit. This incident took place ahead of the three-phase Lok Sabha polls in the state next month. Soon after the incident, he was rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has directed the authorities to expedite the probe and arrest those who are responsible for his murder at the earliest.
