Khargone (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 08 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, the District Magistrate of Khargone, Gopal Chandra Dad said, "Eight members of a family have tested positive in Madhya Pradesh's Khargone as they came in contact with an infected member who attended Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi last month." "The attendee and his mother have died due to the disease," he added. There are total 242 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Madhya Pradesh including 13 deaths. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 4643 in India and 149 deaths.

Americans to return home after being stuck in India amid COVID-19 lockdown

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 08 (ANI): Americans are returning back to their country after they were left stranded due to coronavirus lockdown. American embassy has arranged a bus for Americans and Non Resident Indians (NRIs) amid nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak. The bus will take the passengers from Lucknow to Delhi on April 08. The stranded passengers will board flight on morning of April 09 from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport for USA.

COVID-19: Medical staff of Mumbai's Bhabha Hospital protest alleging low quality PPEs

Mumbai, Apr 08 (ANI): The medical staff of KB Bhabha Municipal General Hospital protested in Mumbai on April 08 amid coronavirus pandemic. COVID-19: ASHA worker manhandled by 5 people in UP's Gonda

Gonda (UP), Apr 08 (ANI): An ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) worker was verbally abused and manhandled by five people in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda on April 06. Beena Yadav was manhandled in Takiya area of Bhauri Ganj. The incident occurred when she had gone there to collect data and make a list of people who had recently returned from other states and countries. While speaking to ANI, the ASHA worker, Beena Yadav said, "I went for a survey to make a list of the people returning from other states and abroad. Some people gave me the information peacefully. But some others verbally abused me, tore my register and manhandled me." Speaking to ANI, the DSP of Gonda, Kripa Shanker Kannaujia said, "Based on her complaint, FIR was registered against five people. Two have been arrested, rest of the arrests will be made soon and action will be taken against all of them." 35 patients in ICU, out of which 8 on ventilators in Delhi: Satyendar Jain

New Delhi, Apr 08(ANI): Delhi Health Minister, Satyendar Jain said that around 35 patients are in ICU, out of which 8 are on ventilators in Delhi. While tracing the movement of around 1900 people connected to Tablighi Jamaat, he said, "We are tracking their last 14 days movement as lot of people are testing positive of coronavirus." He further said, "We won't say that 100% people in connection with Jammat have been traced but we have done maximum people." "As around 3000 people who were connected to Jammat have been rescued," he added.

COVID-19: Jammu Railway converts six coaches into isolation wards

Jammu, Apr 08(ANI): Jammu Railway authorities have converted six coaches into isolation wards at Jammu Railway Station. Senior Divisional Traffic Manager, Chetan Taneja, said, "In Jammu so far we have made six isolation coaches, in one of the coaches, 8-9 patients can be kept along with the doctors and nursing staff." "A total of 48 patients can be kept in these coaches," he added.

Equity indices in green, GAIL jumps by 9% in opening session

New Delhi, Apr 08 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices were in the positive zone during early hours on April 08 amid volatile trade due to uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.At 10:15 am, the BSE S and P Sensex was up by 524 points at 30,592 while the Nifty 50 ticked up by 153 points at 8,945.All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the green with Nifty pharma up by 4.9 per cent, auto by 3.8 per cent, FMCG by 3 per cent and realty by 2.9 per cent.Among stocks, GAIL jumped by 9 per cent to Rs 92.25 per share while pharma majors Cipla and Sun Pharma gained by 5.9 per cent and 5.3 per cent respectively. Mahindra and Mahindra and Hindustan Lever added gains of over 6 per cent. HDFC, HCL Technologies, Hero MotoCorp and Maruti too traded with a positive bias.
