Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 07 (ANI): Amid growing threat of coronavirus, Meerut administration installed complete body sanitization cabin at the cantonment area. The initiative has been taken to contain the spread of the virus and to ensure safety of the essential staff. The staff have to properly sanitize themselves in the cabin before entering to the cantonment area. The hand sanitizer is also put outside the cabin to ensure proper precautionary measure. A total of 305 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported in Uttar Pradesh as of now.
Poonch (JandK), Apr 07 (ANI): The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs of Jammu and Kashmir provided two months ration in Poonch district amid coronavirus lockdown. The ration will be provided to around 1,12,107 families in Poonch district. More than 60,000 families have already been supplied two months ration and rest of the families will be given ration within a week. Nationwide lockdown has been imposed in backdrop of COVID-19 outbreak. There are total 115 confirmed cases of coronavirus in JandK including four cured and two deaths. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 3981 in India and 114 deaths.
Surat (Gujarat), Apr 07 (ANI): Amid growing threats of coronavirus, a doctor from Surat has faced alleged attack and verbal spat from her neighbours of spreading the virus. She had filed a complaint against her neighbours to the police. Speaking to ANI, the victim told, "My neighbours have told me told me that I shouldn't return home from hospital as I must've got infected with COVID-19. They verbally abused and threatened me. Police has extended their support to me. Due to COVID-19 crisis, there's lot of pressure at hospital."
Junagadh (Gujarat), Apr 07 (ANI): There is good news in Junagadh's world-famous Sakkarbaug Zoological Garden and Ambardi Safari Park. Three lionesses gave birth to around nine cubs in Sakkarbaug Zoological Garden and Ambardi Safari Park. A lioness D-3 gave birth to three cubs in Sakkarbaug Zoological Garden. The staff of zoological garden is monitoring them for 24 hours through CCTV surveillance system. The arrival of all cute cubs has given a wave of happiness to the wildlife lovers in Gujarat.
Bilaspur (Himachal Pradesh)/ Kullu (Himachal Pradesh), Apr 07 (ANI): The mortal remains of slain soldier Subedar Sanjiv Kumar brought to HP's Bilaspur while, mortal remains of slain soldier Paratrooper Bal Krishan was brought to HP's Kullu. They lost thier life in action during an anti-terrorist operation in Keran sector on Apr 05 that was carried out along the LOC in Keran sector in Kupwara.
Rajkot (Gujarat), Apr 07 (ANI): Arham Yuva Seva Group (AYSG) is providing food to the needy people in Gujarat's Rajkot amid coronavirus lockdown. Nationwide lockdown has been imposed in backdrop of COVID-19 outbreak. Around 33000 'roti' is being prepared everyday by Arham Yuva Seva Group in Rajkot to serve poor people. While speaking to ANI, one of the volunteer, Alpesh Modi said, "We have served more than 4 lakhs rotis till now. We will keep doing this work until the lockdown continues." There are total 178 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Gujarat including 22 cured and 2 deaths. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 3851 in India and 111 deaths.
New Delhi, Apr 07 (ANI): Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Harivansh, said that MPs salary cut by 30 percent for a year to make way for more funds to fight coronavirus is a bold decision by the government. "MPs salary cut is a bold and decisive decision. It was the demand of time today. Such a decision should be taken by MPs themselves and one who is in public life as such a crisis did not come before us in recent history," said Harivansh after central government promulgated an ordinance to cut MPs salary by 30% for a year to combat coronavirus pandemic.

Kolkata, Apr 07 (ANI): Even as the country has not reached midway in its fight against coronavirus, a sweet shop owner in Kolkata has come up with 'corona' sweets which look like the coronavirus to "uplift the spirit" of the people in these testing times. Cakes, cupcakes and other desserts were designed in shape of coronavirus, and according to the shop owner, the idea behind it was to tell people to fight and digest the virus and not vice versa. "Thousands of people are dying due to the coronavirus. It's a message to uplift the spirit of people that we will fight and digest corona and not vice versa," the shop owner said.

New Delhi, Apr 07 (ANI): Young women who eat high-fibre foods in their adolescence, especially fruits and vegetables may have significantly lower breast cancer risk than those who eat less dietary fibre when young, suggested a recent study. The new large-scale study led by researchers at Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health was published online in the journal Pediatrics. Breast cancer risk was 12 per cent to 19 per cent lower among women who ate more dietary fibre in early adulthood, depending on how much more they ate. High intake of fibre during adolescence was also associated with 16 per cent lower risks of overall breast cancer and 24 per cent lower risk of breast cancer before menopause. Among all the women, there was a strong inverse association between fibre intake and breast cancer incidence.
New Delhi, Apr 07(ANI): Uber announced that it is tying up with e-commerce giant Flipkart to provide delivery of essential supplies to customers during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. In an official blog, Prabhjeet Singh, Director - Operations, and Head of Cities, Uber India and South Asia wrote that the company will facilitate the delivery of supplies to consumers across Delhi, Mumbai. The money earned through these deliveries will be given to the drivers. The latest effort follows Uber's similar initiatives with BigBasket and Spencer's Retail for the last-mile delivery service.

Rampur (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 06 (ANI): A woman who was staying at quarantine in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur has named her newborn baby boy as 'Covid'. Due to lockdown, the couple was returning to their home in Nepal. However, Uttar Pradesh administration stopped them and asked them to stay in quarantine till the lockdown ends. Woman's husband is a migrant worker, who was working at a hotel in Faridabad.
New Delhi, Apr 06 (ANI): Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal on April 06 informed about the current status of COVID-19 cases in the country and Centre and state governments preparations over it. He said that 291 people have recovered from COVID-19 and 4067 cases have been recorded till yet in which 1445 cases are from Tablighi Jamaat attendees. "693 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total number to 4067 in India out of which 1445 cases are related to Jablighi Jamaat. 76 per cent cases have been reported in males and 24 per cent in females," he said.
Shimla (HP), Apr 06 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh's Director General of Police (DGP) SR Mardi on April 06 informed and warned the COVID-19 patients, who are deliberately spitting on others to infect them. He said that the state police is going to file against the COVID-19 patients if they spit on someone under section 307 which is section of attempt to murder. If the person who has been spat upon dies, the coronavirus positive person will be charged with murder case.
