Indian Army spreads awareness about COVID-19 among fishermen community at Wular Lake

Bandipora (Jammu and Kashmir), Mar 30 (ANI): Indian Army is reaching out to marginalised groups to spread awareness about COVID-19. Troop of Chinar Corps spread information among fishermen community at Wular Lake. Villagers use neem and turmeric to sanitize streets, roads in TN

Rameswaram (Tamil Nadu), Mar 30 (ANI): It seems like the awareness over pandemic coronavirus is reaching in rural areas too. However, there are not using sanitizers or masks particularly but are following traditional methods to avoid the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease). In Tamil Nadu's Rameswaram, the villagers used powder of neem leaves and turmeric water for disinfecting streets and roads. Delhi Police provide essential items to senior citizens in Delhi's GK

New Delhi, Mar 30 (ANI): Delhi Police are providing essential items to senior citizens in Delhi's Greater Kailash area amid the nationwide lockdown in the wake of cornavirus. In the recent event, SHO of Greater Kailash Som Nath Paruthi helped senior citizens, whose children are NRIs, with food, medicines and other essential items. "My children stay in United States. It's only my wife and I who stay here. We are patients of diabetes and blood pressure, so we don't go out during lockdown. As we needed few essential items, we called the SHO and soon after we received the items. Delhi Police is supporting us a lot," said R Bhasin.

Migrants from Etawah quarantine in schools post return from neighbouring states

Etawah (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 30 (ANI): Migrant workers who have returned to the various villages of UP's Etawah district from Delhi and other places, are being quarantined at the local primary schools and junior schools which have been turned into quarantine centres. District Magistrate Jitendra Bahadur Singh said, "People were returning in large numbers so it was difficult to determine who all have been tested. So we sought a list of all such people from all village heads. Then they were put under quarantine. They'll be sent home if they don't show any symptom."

A historic Hindu temple in Bareilly to be restored by a Muslim man

Mumbai (Maharashtra), Mar 30 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices traded weak during early hours on Monday in line with Asian peers as fears mounted over the rising cases of coronavirus and economic impact of lockdown in most parts of the world. At 10:15 am, the BSE SandP Sensex was down by 575 points or 1.93 per cent to 29,241 while the Nifty 50 edged lower by 178 points or 2.06 per cent to 8,482. Except for Nifty IT and pharma, all sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the red with Nifty auto down by 4.1 per cent, metal and realty by 3.4 per cent each, PSU bank by 2.4 per cent and financial service by 2.9 per cent. Among stocks, Bajaj Finance was the top loser after clocking a loss of 9.04 per cent to Rs 2,312.60 per share. Mahindra and Mahindra fell by 6.5 per cent, Eicher Motors by 6.3 per cent, Maruti Suzuki by 4.3 per cent and Bajaj Auto by 4.2 per cent. New Delhi, Mar 30 (ANI): A school has been converted to a temporary shelter home by government to accommodate homeless and migrant workers amid coronavirus lockdown. Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in Delhi's Ghazipur is providing temporary shelter to migrant workers. While speaking to ANI, the volunteer of Delhi Civil Defence, Shailendra Kumar Nirala said, "There are around 400 people here. They are from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Haryana. These people were waiting at Anand Vihar Bus Terminal to leave Delhi. We motivated them and asked them to stay here." "All arrangements have been made for them," he added. Coronavirus outbreak: Delhi breathes easy amid lockdown, air quality in 'good' category

New Delhi, Mar 30 (ANI): India is currently under the biggest lockdown with around 130 crore people asked to stay home in view of the coronavirus outbreak. The national capital recorded dip in pollution level as the air quality is in 'good' category on March 30. According to the Air Quality Index (AQI) data and System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), major pollutants in Delhi's Lodhi Road area were PM 2.5 at 31 and PM 10 at 43 both in 'good' category. Under the 'good' category, pollution is considered to be at the lowest and the air is believed to be the healthiest to breathe. The government has urged people to avoid unnecessary travelling, significantly reducing the traffic movement across the country.
