New Delhi, mar 20(ANI): Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on March 20 said that she had meetings with multiple ministries including Civil Aviation and Tourism and Animal Husbandry to announce stimulus packages to reduce the impact of shutdown due to coronavirus outbreak. She said that the economic task force, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to nation on March 19, has not been constituted yet. "The compilation of the data from the meetings is going on, will update soon," added the Finance Minister.
Ranchi (Jharkhand), Mar 20(ANI): In wake of Coronavirus haunting the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 20 held a meeting with Chief Ministers of all the states and union territories via video conference. During the meeting he listened to the steps being taken by the respective state governments to contain COVID-19. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren also attended the meeting from Ranchi. After the meeting, he addressed the media persons and said that the Prime Minister listened to the steps being taken by his state to control the spread of COVID-19. The country is dealing with 2nd stage of the dreadful COVID-19 and is fighting to not to go to 3rd stage which is community transmission of the virus.
Bengaluru, Mar 20 (ANI): Amid COVID-19 haunting the world and people are bound to use hand sanitisers and soaps, the demand of sanitisers has rocketed drastically in India also. Due to which some people started making fake sanitisers and played with lives of the people. Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Central Crime Branch's (CCB) Bangalore on March 20 seized fake hand sanitisers worth Rs 56 lakh during raids at two factories in Bengaluru. Two accused have also been taken into custody and a case has been registered.

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices broke four days of losing streak and ended 5.7 per cent higher on Friday on global cues as policymakers swung into action to minimise the human and economic impact of coronavirus pandemic. The BSE S-P Sensex closed 1,628 points or 5.75 per cent higher at 29,916 while the Nifty 50 ticked up by 482 points or 5.83 per cent to 8,745. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the green with Nifty FMCG up by 8.7 per cent, IT by 8.5 per cent, metal by 7.6 per cent and pharma by 4 per cent. Among stocks, Bharti Infratel was up by 22.6 per cent to Rs 152.10 per share while ONGC jumped by 17.9 per cent and GAIL by 16.3 per cent.
New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Lok Sabha MP Hema Malini on March 20 reacted on the hanging of Nirbhaya's convicts in Tihar Jail. Expressing her satisfaction over the execution of the convicts, she said that the execution of the convicts in Nirbhaya case took time but it finally happened which is a good thing. "Women across the country are very happy with this development. I believe, from now onwards people will be scared to commit any crime against women," she said. The four death row convicts in the 2012 Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case were hanged in Tihar jail early morning on Friday.
Bhopal (MP), Mar 20(ANI): Speaking about Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath's resignation, BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that if a government topples due to their own internal conflict then the opposition can't do anything. "You can see that we were not in the game to form or topple a government," said the former Madhya Pradesh CM. He said the Congress is solely responsible for whatever happened in Madhya Pradesh and they should do some self introspection that what gave rise to such situation.

"There would certainly be an impact of the global economy on all nations. But I feel there would be hardly any impact on India's defence procurement. The procurement procedure will be for the next five years. Also, we can't rule out the possibility that the global economy will improve in the next 2 to 5 months," said Singh on the impact of the current situation on the global economy amid coronavirus.
New Delhi, Mar 20(ANI): Rajya Sabha MP, Jaya Bachchan on Nirbhaya case said that justice delayed is justice denied. She said that even today, one person who was juvenile at the time of the crime and was later released in 2015 is free. "I want to know, have his intentions changed today," Jaya Bachan asked. Comparing the Nirbhaya case and Uttar Pradesh case, wherein the girl was burned alive, she said that the culprits in the later case got life imprisonment. "What kind of justice is it, it's selective justice," she added.
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Mar 20 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Friday submitted his resignation to state Governor Lalji Tandon ahead of the floor test mandated by the Supreme Court. His letter stated "All that has happened in Madhya Pradesh in the last two weeks is a new chapter in the weakening of democratic principles." His resignation comes after the political crisis in the state going through since early this month.

At 1 pm, the BSE S-P Sensex was up by 1,591 points or 5.62 per cent to 29,879 while the Nifty 50 edged higher by 452 points or 5.46 per cent to 8,715. Except for Nifty realty, all sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the green with Nifty IT up by 9.5 per cent, FMCG by 6.4 per cent, pharma by 5 per cent and metal by 4.3 per cent.
Bhopal (MP), Mar 20 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker NP Prajapati informed that he has accepted the resignation of one BJP MLA, a day after he accepted resignations of 16 Congress MLAs. "I had accepted 16 resignations last night. Now I have also accepted resignation of Sharad Kol (BJP MLA). He had earlier said that he was forcefully made to resign but after looking at his documents and that he didn't meet me personally, it didn't seem like that, "said Prajapati ahead of Madhya Pradesh floor test. Floor Test is likely to be held in Madhya Pradesh today after Supreme Court ordered to conduct floor test by 5pm on March 20.

"I had said that as long as Kamal Nath is there, I'll keep supporting him. But my priority is the people of my constituency, their development and respect of the workers. I feel that now it's not possible in absence of a leadership. New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): After a long wait of more than 7 years, 2012 Delhi gangrape case convicts were hanged at 5:30 am on March 20. Speaking on the matter, Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy on Friday stated that all loopholes in (Indian Penal Code) and CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure) were revealed through Nirbhaya case. He said, "All loopholes in IPC (Indian Penal Code) and CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure) were revealed through Nirbhaya case. Quick punishment should be given in such matters. So, Government of India wants to bring some changes in IPC and CrPC."

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Bodies of 2012 Delhi gang-rape case convicts brought to Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital for post-mortem on March 20. The postmortem will be done as recommended by the Jail manual and Supreme Court guidelines. After the postmortem, the bodies of the convicts will be handed over to their respective families. The hanging was carried out as per schedule time 5:30 am.
New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Nirbhaya's parents and their lawyer Seema Kushwaha showed victory sign after the convicts were hanged till death on March 20. The execution was schedule at 05:30 am in Tihar jail. Four convicts, namely Pawan Sharma, Akshay Kumar, Mukesh Singh and Vinay Sharma were hanged. They were hanged for raping and brutally assaulting a woman at South Delhi area on December 16, 2012.
