You can now tell Google Assistant to read aloud web articles

New Delhi, Mar 06 (ANI): Until now, you could tell Google Assistant to show you web results for a search term. Now, you can tell the digital assistant to even read out web articles from a browser. As part of the latest update, if you say, "Hey Google, read it" or "Hey Google, read this page," and it will read aloud the content of the web page. It will also scroll the page automatically and highlight words are they're being read to help you follow along, the official blog explains. You can choose the reading speed and voice. Google Assistant can also trigger the browser to read aloud in 42 languages

Coronavirus: Assam airports on high alert

Dibrugarh (Assam), Mar 06 (ANI): Assam Government is on high alert amid coronavirus outbreak. A total number of coronavirus cases have jumped to 30 with a new case confirmed in Gurugram recently. All the state airports are on high alert and ambulances are on standby. Medical teams have been deployed at all the airports to monitor suspected passengers. The assessment of the triple layer mask, personal protection equipment N95 mask has been done. Announcements for awareness are being made at the airport among the passengers at regular intervals about the COVID-19 infection.

Nirbhaya convicts are literates, not terrorists: Lawyer AP Singh on fresh death warrant

New Delhi, Mar 05 (ANI): Nirbhaya's gang-rape case convicts' lawyer AP Singh said that the convicts are literates, not terrorists who should be hanged. "Fourth death warrant was issued in Nirbhaya's gang-rape case today. I want to know due to media pressure while Indian Constitution is in existence, how many times will they be hanged, they are not terrorist they are literate, they are improving in jail," said Singh after a Delhi court issued fresh death warrant in the gang rape case. Convicts will now be hanged on March 20 at 5:30 am.

Normalcy is returning in Delhi: LG Anil Baijal on riots aftermath

New Delhi, Mar 05 (ANI): Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Anil Baijal commented over the current situation of nation capital after the deadly violence in the Northeast region. "Normalcy is returning. The schools are functioning. All the damage is being assessed and compensation will be released accordingly," Baijal told reporters after a meeting with Aman Committee on March 05. Meanwhile, Delhi Police said they are taking appropriate legal action against suspended AAP Councilor Tahir Hussain in connection with the violence. Police Commissioner of Delhi, SN Shrivastava, said, "We are taking appropriate legal action against Tahir Hussain. We will soon present him before the law." At least 47 people lost their lives in the Northeast Delhi violence.

New Delhi, Mar 05 (ANI): Union Minister for Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Giriraj Singh said that coronavirus is not transmitted through meat, egg or fish."Some people are creating panic due to lack of knowledge regarding coronavirus. Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Dairying Department has already clarified that COVID-19 is not transmitted through meat, egg or fish," said Giriraj Singh. "I came to know that the Lucknow District Magistrate has banned sale of meat in the district. I request district magistrates to consult with Govt of India and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) before issuing any advisory on coronavirus," the Animal Husbandry Minister further stated.

Srinagar/ Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir), Mar 05 (ANI): Lifting ban on social media in Kashmir Valley brought relief for students and families. Students are feeling relieved as now they can submit their exam application forms online. One of the student said, "It's a relief for us, as now we can submit the exam application forms online." However, the access is only on 2G mobile data services and fixed line provided by private players. Ban on social media sites was in place for over seven months since the abrogation of Article 370, which took place on August 5, last year. The centre revoked the Article 370 (special status) of the Jammu and Kashmir, and turned it into union territory.

Nirbhaya's mother still hopeful as Delhi court issues another death warrant for convicts

New Delhi, Mar 05 (ANI): A Delhi court issued a fresh death warrant against the four convicts in Nirbhaya case on March 05. Convicts are to be hanged at 05.30 am on March 20. While speaking to ANI, mother of 2012 gang-rape victim Nirbhaya, Asha Devi said, "Since the four convicts have exhausted all the legal remedies.
